On October 7, a delegation from Ho Chi Minh City led by Mr. Bui Thanh Nhan, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, visited, encouraged and provided support to people affected by storms and floods in the two above-mentioned localities. Also joining the delegation was Colonel Nguyen Dinh Chuan, Deputy Political Commissar of the Ho Chi Minh City Command.

Support 10 billion VND for Ha Tinh people

In Ha Tinh province, on behalf of the Party Committee, Government and people of Ho Chi Minh City, comrade Bui Thanh Nhan presented 10 billion VND to support people to overcome the consequences of storm No. 10.

Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health also donated medical support medicine bags to Ha Tinh Province Department of Health.

In addition, the working delegation awarded 300 million VND to support Thach Thang Primary School (Thach Lac commune) and 300 million VND to Tan Vinh Secondary School (Tran Phu ward) to soon stabilize teaching and learning.

Providing support to 2 schools affected by storm No. 10

In Thach Lac commune, the delegation awarded 30 million VND/household in support to 10 households whose houses were severely damaged, and 20 gifts (2 million VND/gift) to students in difficult circumstances.

The delegation also supported 70 million VND to rebuild the completely collapsed house of Mr. Nguyen Huu Thanh (73 years old) - a policy family with especially difficult circumstances.

Speaking at the gift-giving ceremony, Comrade Bui Thanh Nhan expressed his emotion when visiting the steadfast land of Ha Tinh, rich in revolutionary tradition. He said that the VND10 billion support is a resource that Ho Chi Minh City prioritizes for practical items such as repairing and building houses, schools, taking care of policy families and poor households, contributing to helping people stabilize their lives soon after the storm.

Comrade Nguyen Hong Linh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province, sincerely thanked the timely and kind support of the Party Committee, Government and people of Ho Chi Minh City.

According to him, this is not only material support but also a great source of spiritual encouragement to help Ha Tinh soon overcome difficulties, restore production and people's lives.

According to statistics, storm No. 10 caused more than 6,000 billion VND in damage in Ha Tinh, causing 91,000 houses to lose their roofs and be damaged; 75% of schools were affected. With the help of localities, including Ho Chi Minh City, the province is urgently overcoming the consequences and stabilizing people's lives.

According to comrade Nguyen Hong Linh, storm No. 10 caused great consequences to the lives of people and the province. Total damage was more than 6,000 billion VND; 91,000 houses had their roofs blown off or damaged, production suffered great damage; 75% of schools were affected.

With the sharing of many localities across the country, including Ho Chi Minh City, the province has now focused on basically overcoming the consequences.

Support 5 billion VND for Quang Tri people

On the same day, the delegation of Ho Chi Minh City leaders visited, encouraged and presented 5 billion VND to support people of Quang Tri province to overcome the consequences of storm No. 10.

Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health also donated medical support medicine bags to Quang Tri Province Department of Health.

Locally, the working group awarded 30 million VND/household to 10 households whose houses were severely damaged and 70 million VND/household to rebuild 2 completely collapsed houses.

Comrade Bui Thanh Nhan said that for many years, Ho Chi Minh City has always stood side by side with the people of the Central region in natural disasters and floods. “Each gift and each trip shows the affection of the people of Ho Chi Minh City, is proof of the spirit of solidarity and sharing 'Ho Chi Minh City for the whole country, with the whole country',” he said.

A total of 15 billion VND was handed over by the Party Committee, Government and people of Ho Chi Minh City to the people of Ha Tinh and Quang Tri. This is a timely source of encouragement, expressing the deep affection of the city named after Uncle Ho for the people of the Central region who are overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and stabilizing their lives day by day.
