Ho Chi Minh City is ready to cooperate with France on AI, fintech, green technology

The French Tech Summit is an opportunity for both sides to cooperate in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), green technology, biotechnology, financial technology... to jointly create breakthrough solutions for a comprehensive and sustainable digital future.

On May 27, speaking at the French Tech Summit Vietnam 2025 (FTSV), Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Dung assessed that the friendly relationship between Vietnam and France has made great strides in all fields after more than 50 years of establishing diplomatic relations.

Ho Chi Minh City is one of the leading localities in Vietnam in promoting cooperative relations with France. Ho Chi Minh City - France trade turnover reached more than 951 million USD in 2024. As of April 2025, France had 361 investment projects in the city with a total registered capital of nearly 330 million USD, ranking 17th out of more than 120 countries and territories investing in the city.

Vice Chairman Nguyen Van Dung said that this French technology event is an opportunity for the two sides to cooperate in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), green technology, biotechnology, financial technology... to jointly create breakthrough solutions for a comprehensive and sustainable digital future. "Through the event, Ho Chi Minh City hopes to learn from France's experience in building an open legal foundation, flexible institutions, financial mechanisms to encourage innovation and an effective public-private partnership network," said Mr. Dung.

According to Mr. Dung, Ho Chi Minh City is ready to welcome the wave of investment and high-tech knowledge to become an important link in the supply chain of knowledge-intensive, high-value industries. At the same time, Ho Chi Minh City is committed to continuing to improve policies and create the most favorable and transparent investment and business conditions to attract international investors and talents, including those from France, to the city.

On this occasion, Ho Chi Minh City leaders respectfully invite international partners to attend the Ho Chi Minh City Economic Forum (HEF) in November this year, with the theme "AI - From technology to practice".

Experts, scientists and businesses discuss key issues of FTSV 2025.

FTSV, organized by La French Tech Vietnam, took place in Ho Chi Minh City on the occasion of French President Emmanuel Macron's State visit to Vietnam, and opened the French-Vietnamese National Innovation Year 2025. This is also one of the specific activities to realize the Joint Statement on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and France signed on October 7, 2024, which emphasized the priority of enhancing cooperation in the fields of high technology, innovation and digital transformation.

Ms. Le Thi Minh Anh, National Innovation Center (NIC), recognized that the combination of France's experience and strategic vision with Vietnam's development aspirations and young, dynamic human resources creates a solid foundation for high-tech cooperation. Areas such as AI, green technology, smart healthcare, financial technology and digital transformation are becoming the focus of bilateral cooperation.

Ms. Minh Anh said that one of the focuses of this cooperation is to promote joint projects in key areas such as AI, semiconductor industry, medical technology, environmental technology and digital transformation in enterprises - areas in which both Vietnam and France have strengths and development potential.

FTSV 2025 focuses on cutting-edge technology areas, including AI, health technology, enterprise digitalization, green technology, biotechnology, Fintech/Crypto, digital entertainment and venture capital.
