Ho Chi Minh City: Strengthening many solutions to reduce environmental pollution

According to the plan, Ho Chi Minh City has set a target to be achieved by 2025 to reduce environmental pollution. Specifically, by 2025, Ho Chi Minh City must achieve at least 80%, aiming for 100% by 2030 of domestic waste treatment by incineration and recycling technology; 100% of source collection vehicles are converted, meeting technical requirements, hygiene quality and environmental protection according to regulations; 100% of transfer stations meet technical requirements and environmental protection according to current regulations; The rate of urban wastewater collected and treated centrally by 2025 is 58%, aiming for 88% by 2030.

To achieve the set goals, Ho Chi Minh City has proposed a number of tasks and solutions.

Firstly, strengthen the participation and coordination of departments, branches, the Fatherland Front, socio -political organizations, grassroots People's Committees, and relevant units in communication work on environmental protection, climate change response, nature conservation and biodiversity.

Second, perfecting policy mechanisms to attract investment in the environmental sector; ensuring favorable and equal access for investors in research and development of environmentally friendly technology.

Third, improve management capacity, develop human resources; consolidate and perfect the organizational structure and management staff, train human resources to ensure effective implementation of set goals; modernize facilities, strengthen inspection and control of management, use of resources, environmental protection, and response to climate change.

Fourth, promote high-tech investment, encourage the use of advanced technology and equipment in production and business, minimize waste, control and thoroughly treat pollution, combine waste treatment with energy generation, protect and improve the quality of the ecological environment. Focus on engineering solutions to serve the work of minimizing environmental pollution.

Fifth, strengthen linkages and cooperation with provinces and cities in the region and neighboring regions and internationally in managing and solving resource and environmental issues and responding to climate change.
