Amid the sultry weather of the Central region's summer, Tra Ly lotus field is an ideal stop for tourists who want to return to nature.

In mid-June, lotus flowers in Tra Ly bloom in full bloom, spreading a gentle pink color against the green background of rice fields and majestic mountain ranges.

This is one of the largest lotus fields in Quang Nam province, with a total area of about 45 hectares, cultivated by nearly 100 local households.

Tra Ly lotus field is located at the foot of Hon Tau mountain (in Chanh Loc village, Duy Son commune), about 30km from Hoi An city and about 20km from My Son relic site.

To get here, visitors from Da Nang can travel along National Highway 1A to Nam Phuoc town (Duy Xuyen), then turn onto National Highway 14H for about 3km. Just ask for directions to “Tra Ly lotus pond”, the locals will enthusiastically give you directions.

Lotus season in Tra Ly lasts from May to August every year, but is most beautiful in June, when each pink lotus blooms simultaneously. The ideal time to see lotus is from 6am to 9am, when the sunlight is still gentle, the morning dew still lingers on the petals, creating a sparkling, pure scene.

The special thing is that the lotus field here still retains its pristine beauty, not much commercialized. Visitors can freely walk around and take photos without paying an entrance fee. However, if you want to pick flowers or buy lotus seeds, you need to contact the owner of the pond to avoid damaging the local people's crops.

Ms. Nguyen Trang (residing in Dai Loc district) shared that because she loves lotus flowers so much, she and her child and younger sister wore yếm dresses to Tra Ly to take pictures.

“The scenery here is incredibly beautiful, lotus flowers are blooming everywhere, the gentle fragrance in the fresh air makes me feel truly peaceful,” said Ms. Trang.

Not only attracting local people, Tra Ly lotus pond also attracts tourists from other localities.

Mr. Tran Hieu (residing in Da Nang City) said that this is the second year he and his wife have returned to this place. “Fascinated by the pure beauty of Tra Ly lotus, we definitely have to come back to capture these memorable moments,” Mr. Hieu shared.

Lotus fields not only bring tourism value but also create a stable source of income for local people. According to the leader of Duy Son commune, lotus plants bring in three times more income than rice plants. Thanks to the change in production model, many households have better economic conditions.

Not simply a place to visit, Tra Ly lotus field is gradually becoming a symbol of new rural tourism in Duy Xuyen district, harmoniously combining economic development and nature conservation.

In the future, if properly invested in tourism infrastructure, Tra Ly can completely become a prominent destination on the eco-tourism map of Quang Nam.

With its pristine beauty, fresh air and location near world heritage sites such as Hoi An and My Son, Tra Ly lotus fields are gradually asserting their unique appeal, a peaceful but equally poetic countryside in the heart of Quang Nam.
