Previously, in early April, the impact of high tides combined with strong winds created currents that exceeded alert level 3, causing landslides and the breaking of many dike sections in Con Ho with a total length of about 680m.
Specifically, 8 dike sections were broken, each about 100m long, causing flooding in the entire Con Ho area. The water overflowed and flooded nearly 1.5m deep, causing damage to 25ha of fruit gardens and many aquaculture areas of 29 households.

Up to now, the landslide has eaten deep, the width of the dike surface is about 0.5-1m compared to the original state of 3m. The landslide position has lost the entire slope, the dike line no longer meets the requirements of preventing tides and protecting the lives and production of local people.
Therefore, this area needs timely remedial measures, otherwise there is a high risk of causing damage to the lives and property of people in the area.
According to Tra Vinh province authorities, the cause of landslides is due to the terrain and geology of the area and is often affected by high tides and strong currents.
In the immediate future, the People's Committee of Cang Long district will put up landslide warning signs and widely notify people to proactively prevent and ensure safety, and not travel to the above locations.
