On the morning of May 24, at the National Funeral House (No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong, Hanoi), the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, the President, the Government, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the family solemnly held a State Funeral Ceremony for former President Tran Duc Luong.

In deep sorrow, the Central Party Committee delegation led by General Secretary To Lam visited comrade Tran Duc Luong and expressed condolences to his family. Next came the delegations: the State President delegation led by comrade Luong Cuong, President; the Government delegation led by comrade Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister; the National Assembly delegation led by comrade Tran Thanh Man , Chairman of the National Assembly; and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front delegation led by comrade Do Van Chien, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. The wreaths of the delegations bore the inscription: "Deeply mourning comrade Tran Duc Luong".

With infinite sorrow, General Secretary To Lam wrote in the condolence book: “ Deeply mourning comrade Tran Duc Luong - a staunch Communist Party member, a devoted and exemplary leader, an excellent son of the heroic homeland of Quang Ngai, rich in revolutionary tradition. Comrade Tran Duc Luong devoted his entire life to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation. In all positions, he always demonstrated steadfast political will, pure moral qualities, a scientific and dedicated working method; a simple, modest lifestyle, close to comrades, brothers, and people... respected by comrades, brothers, friends and people .

Comrade's passing is a great loss to our Party, State and people.

I respectfully bow before the spirit of the comrade and send my deepest condolences to his family .

President Luong Cuong wrote in the condolence book: “ Comrade Tran Duc Luong was an outstanding leader of our Party and State, a shining example of devotion and wholehearted service to the Fatherland and the People. He devoted his entire life to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation. His passing is a great loss to our Party, State and People.

We will always remember the great contributions of Comrade. Although he has passed away, the good values ​​that Comrade left behind will forever be a source of encouragement for generations of cadres, party members and our people to continue to firmly step on the path of building a peaceful, independent, unified, democratic, prosperous and civilized Vietnam.

In this moment of sorrow, I, along with all my compatriots and comrades, would like to express our deepest condolences and send our deepest sympathies to the entire family of comrade Tran Duc Luong. Farewell, comrade Tran Duc Luong.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh wrote in the condolence book: “ Deeply mourning comrade Tran Duc Luong, an outstanding and steadfast leader of our Party, State and People. I would like to express my deepest condolences to comrade Tran Duc Luong’s family for this painful loss.

Comrade Tran Duc Luong, at 88 years old and 66 years of Party membership, devoted his whole life to the revolutionary cause of our Party, State and People.

During his activities and leadership of the country, he always showed himself to be a leader with strategic vision, close to reality, taking effectiveness as the highest measure. His life, work and dedication are a shining example for cadres, soldiers and people to follow.

Learning from comrade Tran Duc Luong, we vow to do our best to contribute to the revolutionary cause of our Party and People, for the cause of a rich people, strong country, democracy, fairness, and civilization!".

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man wrote in the condolence book: “ With deep sorrow for comrade Tran Duc Luong, former member of the Politburo, former President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. He made great contributions to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.

During his participation in the revolution, the Party and the State trusted him and assigned him many important responsibilities. No matter what position he held, he wholeheartedly served the Revolution and the People; and was absolutely loyal to the Party.

Our Party, State and People will always respect the great contributions of Comrade. We respectfully present our respects to Comrade's spirit. We would like to express our deepest condolences to the family and entire bereaved family of beloved Comrade Tran Duc Luong.

Today, May 25, the memorial service for former President Tran Duc Luong will be held according to the State Funeral protocol at 7:00 a.m. at the National Funeral Home; simultaneously taking place at Thong Nhat Hall (HCMC) and at Hall T50, Quang Ngai Provincial Military Command. The burial ceremony will take place at 3:00 p.m. the same day at his hometown cemetery, Pho Khanh Commune, Duc Pho Town, Quang Ngai Province.
