Torbjorn Blomdahl is considered a "living legend" of the world of 3-cushion carom billiards. He currently holds 46 World Cup titles.

Torbjorn Blomdahl performed well. The Swedish player won two matches, against Nguyen Van Phuoc Hieu and Pham Quoc Thuan respectively. The Swedish player averaged 2.059 points per inning (70 points in 34 innings). As a result, the player born in 1962 secured his place in the second round.
