On May 24, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of An Giang province in collaboration with the Provincial Border Guard Command and the People's Committee of Vinh Gia commune (Tri Ton district) organized a propaganda and dissemination of laws on drug prevention and control and human trafficking prevention and control for over 100 officials, students and people of Vinh Gia commune.

People and students in border areas are provided with knowledge about the characteristics, behaviors, and tricks of human trafficking crimes; distinguish between human trafficking and organizing illegal exit; policies to support victims of human trafficking; disseminate some main contents of the Vietnam Border Law and legal documents on national borders.
The propaganda campaign aims to raise awareness, actively participate in the work of preventing, detecting, combating and denouncing drug and human trafficking crimes, promoting the responsibility of the community to join hands in preventing and combating crimes on the border.
Previously, on the morning of May 23, the Women's Union of Loc Ha district ( Ha Tinh ) coordinated with Binh An Thinh Secondary School (located in Binh An commune) to organize a contest to learn about knowledge about preventing and combating human trafficking and safe migration.
This activity is part of the project series "Communication to prevent and combat human trafficking and promote safe migration" sponsored by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) - the United Nations Migration Agency.
The contest helps teachers, students and parents better understand the propaganda and dissemination of legal education on preventing and combating human trafficking crimes; raise awareness and general understanding of the risks of becoming victims of unsafe labor migration; improve the ability to defend each person and join hands to repel human trafficking.
In 2024, 106 human trafficking cases with 252 subjects were prosecuted. On May 24 in Hai Phong City, the Criminal Police Department, Ministry of Public Security coordinated with the Department of Drug and Crime Prevention, Border Guard Command to organize a conference to review the implementation of the Plan for coordination in preventing and combating human trafficking crimes in 2024. Over the past year, the two forces have exchanged nearly 400 pieces of information related to human trafficking crimes; directed professional coordination to investigate and handle 29 cases with 59 subjects related to 56 victims; received 239 cases with 4,488 citizens, detected and prevented 818 cases with 3,774 citizens illegally entering and exiting the country through the borders of Laos, Cambodia and China; through classification and screening, discovered 115 people suspected of trafficking; prosecuted 106 cases of human trafficking with 252 subjects... |
