Controversy: Miss International Queen was not congratulated on her coronation

(Dan Tri) - Midori Monet has just been crowned Miss International Queen 2025, but the scene of her standing alone without receiving any congratulations is attracting attention.

Miss International Queen is an international beauty pageant for transgender women, held annually in Thailand since 2004.

Not only honoring beauty and talent, Miss International Queen also carries a strong message about equality and acceptance of gender diversity. Vietnam has made its mark with many outstanding contestants such as Huong Giang (crowned Miss in 2018) and most recently Ha Tam Nhu, 2nd runner-up of this year's contest.

On the evening of September 20, the Miss International Queen 2025 Final took place in Thailand with many emotions but also no shortage of controversy.

The center of controversy was the scene where Miss Midori Monet (USA) stood alone, with few visitors after receiving the crown of the contest, while other contestants rushed to congratulate each other. This scene was filmed and was discussed by netizens.

The incident went further when first runner-up Olivia Lauren suddenly spoke up to accuse new Miss Midori Monet of bullying.

Notably, Vietnam's representative - Ha Tam Nhu - although not directly mentioned, also became a part of the discussion on social networks.

Specifically, in her social media posts and interviews after the finals, Olivia claimed that she was bullied backstage by Miss Midori Monet.

The beauty said that these experiences left her with a lot of mental trauma, but the Miss International Queen Organizing Committee seemed to have made no move to protect her.

Olivia even recounted the moment after the crown was awarded, many contestants only congratulated her and not the Miss, a detail that according to Olivia Lauren is proof of the "hidden tensions" in the contest.

Right after the first runner-up's sharing, Miss Midori Monet also expressed: "I want the world to move forward with love. There is a lot of jealousy and envy around and covering this world.

I want you to believe in yourself and move forward with your love. The law of karma is real, love is real. Your actions are how others perceive you most clearly."

While Olivia only mentioned Midori Monet, social media speculation suddenly turned to Ha Tam Nhu, the representative of Vietnam. Some netizens said that Olivia had hinted that she was also bullied by a “27-year-old” contestant, which coincides with Ha Tam Nhu’s age.

However, Olivia has never directly mentioned Ha Tam Nhu in any statement. Up to now, neither Olivia, Midori Monet, Ha Tam Nhu nor the Miss International Queen Organizing Committee have given any official response.

This caused the online debate to spread further.

In fact, beauty contests, especially large international competitions like Miss International Queen, are not rarely embroiled in controversy.

In 2022, contestant Eva Foster (Malaysia) publicly criticized the competition for its unprofessional backstage and the lack of transparency in the top 12 results. This statement caused her to receive a strong reaction from the audience and other contestants, showing that once a controversy breaks out, the consequences can be long-lasting, affecting her image and long-term career.

Currently, the international public is waiting for an official response from the pageant's Organizing Committee. Without transparency, this scandal could have a major impact on the reputation of Miss International Queen 2025 as well as the careers of the contestants involved.
