On August 4, the Vietnam Red Cross Central Committee decided to provide emergency relief to people in Dien Bien and Son La provinces, which have suffered serious damage due to flash floods and torrential rains since late July.
The total relief fund worth nearly 665 million VND, including cash and essential goods, was drawn from the Central Association's fund to support natural disaster response. The goal is to support households in difficult circumstances, with deaths, injuries, and damage to housing, food and livelihoods.
Of which, Dien Bien province was supported with 150 million VND in cash and 200 boxes of household goods. Son La province was supported with 50 million VND in cash and 200 boxes of household goods.
This relief effort demonstrates the humanitarian spirit and timely sharing of difficulties with people in flood-hit areas, helping them overcome this difficult period and soon stabilize their lives. The Vietnam Red Cross Central Committee will continue to monitor the situation and is ready to deploy additional support activities when necessary./.
