Voluntary blood donation has long been a regular habit of many people. However, these days, in the space filled with the red color of the national flag, the smiles of blood donors seem brighter, each drop of blood donated is even warmer when they can also contribute to life with meaningful actions.
Mr. Le Duy Vinh, who has donated blood 28 times, especially brought the flag of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam on his return this time. “The blue-red flag symbolizes the Vietnamese people’s aspiration to unify the two regions. Today, we donate blood voluntarily, our blood also carries the mission of connecting all regions,” Mr. Vinh emotionally shared.

Not only those who have been involved in the blood donation movement, many young people also choose this special way to express their patriotism. Nguyen Trong Tung, a student at the Academy of Finance, expressed: “We donate blood to show our patriotism and gratitude to previous generations who sacrificed so that we can live in peace .”

In Van Giang district, Hung Yen province, the image of veteran Le Trung Truyen's family, his children, grandchildren and friends arranging blood donation certificates into the shape of the national flag moved many people. Members of Mr. Truyen's extended family have donated blood hundreds of times and actively contributed to the voluntary blood donation movement.
“When I was young, the country was still facing many difficulties, so donating blood or giving blood to injured comrades or sick people was very difficult. I am very happy that now the country is at peace, and patients in need of blood have the opportunity to be treated,” Mr. Truyen shared.

Until now, although he is past the age of donating blood, Mr. Truyen still continues to pass on the flame of patriotism to his children and grandchildren through simple yet profound lessons. For Mr. Le Trung Truyen’s family, donating blood is not only a noble act, but also a part of tradition, a way for kindness and generosity to spread through many generations.
The blood donated today not only helps save the lives of many patients, but also lights the flame of love and solidarity in the hearts of the Vietnamese people. It is also one of the ways that today's generation continues to preserve and promote the good traditions of their ancestors.
On all holidays, people with adequate health conditions can donate blood at the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion (No. 5, Pham Van Bach Street, Cau Giay District, Hanoi ) from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
