In recent years, Vietnam - Italy cooperation in the fields of culture, sports and tourism has been constantly developing with many meaningful marks. In 2023, the two governments signed the Cultural Cooperation Program for the period 2023-2026, which is an important basis to continue promoting both the quantity and quality of bilateral cultural cooperation activities. In 2024, many cultural exchange events were successfully organized, notably the tour of the Italian World Youth Orchestra in Vietnam with the participation of artists from the Vietnam National Academy of Music, the Vietnam National Museum of Fine Arts and the Galleria Borghese Museum (Italy) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation..., contributing to strengthening the friendship between the two countries.

In particular, the Italian initiative to upgrade Casa Italia into the Italian Cultural Institute in Hanoi is considered an important step forward, opening up more professional and comprehensive cooperation opportunities in the cultural field. Established on the basis of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two governments in 2013, Casa Italia is considered one of the symbols of Italian culture in the heart of Hanoi, a place to organize many cultural and artistic exchange activities, contributing to bringing a deep understanding of Italian economy and culture to the Vietnamese people and enhancing cultural exchanges and cooperation between the two countries. The plan to upgrade Casa Italia is expected to help improve the effectiveness of activities promoting Italian culture in Vietnam and at the same time be a premise for the establishment of the Vietnam Cultural Center in Rome in the future.

In the coming time, Vietnam and Italy will continue to promote the organization of art exchange programs and cultural weeks in each country, strengthen cooperation in the field of heritage conservation and expert exchange. Vietnam invites Italy to send representatives to attend major international cultural and artistic events held in Vietnam such as Hue Festival, Hanoi International Film Festival, International Dance Festival... promising to continue to be a cultural bridge between Vietnam and Italy, contributing to deepening the strategic cooperative relationship between the two countries.

The Order of Merit of the Italian Republic, established in 1951, is the highest award of the Italian Republic awarded to Italian citizens and foreign citizens for outstanding contributions in the fields of culture, public service and charitable activities./.
