Among the more than 1,200 enrolled students, over 70% are ethnic minority students from Lao Cai province and some neighboring provinces.
During the enrollment process, students receive guidance and assistance from faculty, staff, and volunteers in completing their application forms; accommodation is arranged for students registering for dormitories, and safe and secure off-campus housing options are recommended. Students are also provided with transportation from the main campus to each branch to ensure their safety.

According to the plan, in the 2025-2026 academic year, Lao Cai College will welcome approximately 2,000 students registering for vocational college and intermediate-level courses. Prior to that, in mid-August, the school had already welcomed and processed enrollment for nearly 500 students registering for intermediate-level vocational courses.

Currently, Lao Cai College offers 24 college-level programs and 27 vocational programs. Along with improving quality and expanding training programs to meet the demand for skilled labor, Lao Cai College has been focusing on expanding partnerships and collaborations with businesses inside and outside the province, creating job opportunities for students immediately after graduation. In addition to maintaining training partnerships with dozens of vocational schools and businesses nationwide, the college is also strengthening international cooperation with organizations and vocational schools in South Korea, China, the United States, Australia, and other countries.

Lao Cai College is one of 70 vocational schools approved by the Prime Minister for investment to become high-quality schools in the 2020-2025 period. Currently, the school is finalizing its application to submit to the Department of Vocational Education and Continuing Education ( Ministry of Education and Training ) for accreditation according to the prescribed criteria.
