Over 10 thousand visitors visited and experienced chestnut picking in Quang Lac

- During the 4-day National Day holiday on September 2 (from August 31 to September 3), chestnut gardens in Quang Lac commune, Lang Son city opened their doors to welcome visitors to visit and experience chestnut picking.

Leaders of the Provincial People's Council Committees and departments and branches took souvenir photos with the ancient chestnut tree at the Huong Sac Xu Lang Ecological Garden.

People in Quang Lac commune (Lang Son city) started growing chestnuts more than 20 years ago, but only in the last 2-3 years has the ripe chestnut season become known to many tourists through festivals organized by the locality, plus the participation of travel businesses opening chestnut picking tours.

Tourists visit chestnut gardens and experience chestnut picking

According to information from the leaders of the People's Committee of Quang Lac commune, there are currently 20 gardens in the commune that have harvested chestnuts. Of which, during this holiday, 4 gardens with convenient locations and access have opened their doors to welcome visitors, including: Huong Sac Xu Lang Ecological Garden, implemented by the Northeast Forestry Seed Joint Stock Company in collaboration with Ms. Hoang Thi Doan, Quang Trung 2 commune; An Son Cooperative Garden; Khao Khoang Garden; Thien Dai Garden. These four gardens have a total of about 5,000 chestnut trees.
In particular, the Huong Sac Xu Lang Ecological Garden was developed from the experimental chestnut garden of the Northeast Forestry Seed Joint Stock Company. This is the first garden in Lang Son, planted since 2001. The experimental chestnut garden is a place that provides high-quality propagation material for the entire Northeast region.

According to statistics from gardeners, on average, each garden receives 500 - 1,000 visitors per day during the holiday. During the 4 days of the holiday, 4 gardeners received over 10,000 visitors to visit and experience chestnut picking.

Tourists choose to buy shelled chestnuts and chestnut milk as gifts.

Tourists from inside and outside the province come to the gardens to visit the chestnut gardens for free, the entrance ticket and the chestnut picking experience are priced at about 100,000 VND/kg. In addition to the chestnuts picked by hand, tourists also have many products to choose from as gifts such as: chestnut milk, peeled chestnuts... with the price of 40,000 VND for a 500ml bottle of chestnut milk; peeled chestnuts range in price from 120,000 VND - 180,000 VND/kg depending on the size of the nut.
