Today, September 13, the National Economics University opened the new school year 2025 - 2026. According to Dr. Le Anh Duc, Head of Training Management Department, National Economics University, the total number of students admitted and enrolled this year at the school is 8,858, reaching 104% of the total announced target (8,500 targets).

Of which, students with admission scores of 27/30 or higher account for nearly 50%; 21 students have absolute admission scores of 30/30; 99 candidates are admitted directly.
Mr. Duc informed that, of the total number of new students admitted, nearly 80% of students have international English certificates (meeting the school's output standards or higher (IETLS from 5.5), of which 82% have IELTS from 6.5 or higher. If calculated on the total number of students admitted, the number of students this year with IELTS English certificates from 6.5 or higher is over 5,800 students, accounting for over 65%. New students who have met the school's output foreign language standards are over 7,000 students.
According to Mr. Duc, the top 3 high schools with the most students becoming new students of the National Economics University are Kim Lien High School, followed by Viet Duc High School and Phan Dinh Phung High School. All 3 schools are in Hanoi .
Standing out among the new students of the National Economics University this year is Ninh Quang Thang (born in 2007), a former IT student at Ha Long High School for the Gifted, Quang Ninh, who was directly admitted to the school's Data Science and Artificial Intelligence major.
In grade 10, Thang won third prize in the national excellent student competition in Information Technology, the national Encouragement prize in Young Informatics, first prize in the Northern Young Informatics, first prize in the provincial excellent student competition in Information Technology, and first prize in the provincial Young Informatics. In grade 11, Thang won second prize in the national excellent student competition, first prize in the provincial excellent student competition, and third prize in ICPC Regional (high school level).
In grade 12, in addition to his excellent achievements with the Bronze Medal of the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) 2025, the Bronze Medal of the Asia-Pacific Olympiad in Informatics (APIO) 2025, Quang Thang also won the Second Prize in the National Excellent Student Competition, the Second Prize in the National ICPC, the First Prize in the Provincial Excellent Student Competition, the Third Prize in the Informatics Super Cup Olympic Competition (High School category), the Second Prize in the Northern Coastal Excellent Student Competition and the First Prize in the Natural Science Olympiad.

Sharing the opportunity to be associated with the National Economics University, Quang Thang confided that in grade 11, when reviewing for the national excellent student exam, he studied with Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hoang, a lecturer at the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, National Economics University, and had 2 months during the summer vacation to study in the school's lab. From then on, Thang was determined to choose the school as the destination for his next journey.
Nguyen Trung Hai was also directly admitted to the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, National Economics University. Hai won the first prize in the national excellent student competition in Informatics in 2025; a member of the Vietnamese team participating in the 2025 Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad; the second prize in the national Informatics competition in 2024; and the first prize in Informatics in Vinh Phuc province in grades 10, 11 and 12.

Mai Hai Trang (International Business major) has a total admission score of 30/30 points. Hai Trang has an IELTS certificate of 7.0, and a score of 122/150 on the Hanoi National University's aptitude test (top 0.1% of candidates with high scores). During her time in high school, Trang won second prize in Math in Hai Phong City, second prize in Chemistry in English in Hai Phong City. In the high school graduation exam, Hai Trang scored 29.5/30 points in the A00 combination (Math 10, Physics 9.5; Chemistry 10).

In the next 4 years, Hai Trang wants to both study well and experience a lot. Outside of school, she will participate in clubs and extracurricular activities to practice soft skills and find more friends and siblings with the same passion. She also aims to improve her foreign language skills and do an early internship at a company to gain more practical experience to pursue an international business career after graduation.
Pham Thu Ha (Logistics and Supply Chain Management), during her high school years, won first prize in English at the provincial level in the 12th grade excellent student competition, was the valedictorian of the D01 group and the second prize winner of the A1 group of Thai Binh province (old) with high school graduation exam scores in Math: 9; Literature: 9; Physics: 9.5; English: 9.5. Ha also achieved IELTS 7.5 and scored 121/150 points in the Hanoi National University's competency assessment test.

Tran Ngoc Tu Anh has a score of 121/150 in the Hanoi National University's aptitude test, IELTS 8.0, high school graduation exam scores of Math: 8.5; Literature: 8.25; Geography: 9.5; English: 8.75. In the past, Tu Anh was the valedictorian of the English major at Bien Hoa High School for the Gifted (formerly Ha Nam); first prize in the provincial English proficiency test for grade 11; second prize in the provincial English proficiency test for grade 10.

Tu Anh still remembers clearly the moment the mouse pointer stopped right in front of the door of a completely new chapter: Exam score lookup. And when the absolute number 30 appeared, her whole world seemed to explode when the pressure, the efforts, the sweat, the silent sacrifices had crystallized into sweet results.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong, Director of the National Economics University, said that this year's new students enter university in a context of profound and comprehensive changes in the world, especially digital technology, artificial intelligence and globalization. These changes open up many great opportunities, but also pose many challenges, requiring each student to proactively adapt, equip themselves with knowledge, skills and courage.
The Director of the National Economics University also gave some advice to this year’s new students. These are to study proactively and creatively; practice skills to adapt to a globalized environment; maintain a sense of responsibility and the courage to think and act; nurture personality and live responsibly towards the community; and know how to balance between study and life.
