The incident originated from an anonymous post on social media. The writer claimed to be a student at a college in Hanoi , who participated in the A80 program (80th Anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day) on September 2nd.
According to the writer, students from other schools received 1.6 million VND in support for this training session, but your school only received 940,000 VND in cash. At the same time, the receipt did not specify the amount.
“When asked, the school explained that the difference was due to “food and car rental expenses”, but these expenses are the same as other schools and students are not allowed to see any statements, unit prices or invoices. The explanation was only verbal so I did not understand clearly,” the article stated.

The author also raised three questions: First, is it correct for students to sign a receipt but not write down the amount? Second, why is the support level between schools almost double for the same program? Third, are there any schools facing a similar situation?
The writer affirms that he does not intend to criticize the school but only wants to clarify the issue because the money students receive support is state funding.
The incident is said to have occurred at Hanoi College of Tourism .
Dan Tri reporter contacted some students of the school and confirmed the information was similar to the anonymous article.
NMT, a student from Hanoi College of Tourism who participated in the puzzle block in the A80 event, was upset: “There is nothing worth mentioning until other schools pay their students more than my school. Some schools pay 2 million VND, some pay 1.6 million VND, and my school pays 940,000 VND, even though students from those schools practice like us.”
According to T., the school asked for the student's account number but did not transfer the money but called him to receive the cash. However, T. later discovered that a student who volunteered to be the school's student manager was transferred 995,000 VND in A80 allowance, plus a certificate of merit and 702,000 VND in cash.
The fact that each student receives a different amount makes T. feel it is not transparent.
MAP students shared similar content with Dan Tri reporters.
“We asked our homeroom teacher why students from other schools were paid more even though they practiced on the same day, braving the sun and rain with us. The teacher explained that the allowance was partly used to cover food and transportation.
However, before that, we also received information from the homeroom teacher and the dormitory supervisors that we would be supported with meals," P. said, attaching a text message as evidence.

P. added that when the incident was posted on social media, the school's first move was to organize a dialogue with students on the afternoon of December 1.
Contacting Mr. Pham Van Long - Principal of Hanoi College of Tourism - Dan Tri reporter confirmed about this dialogue.
Mr. Long said he was on a business trip but changed his ticket to fly back to Hanoi.
“I have received information about the students’ complaints and have reviewed all related issues,” said Mr. Long. The school principal affirmed that in all cases, the rights of students must be guaranteed.
Mr. Long will personally meet with students to listen and answer all questions on the afternoon of December 1.
