Deploy, apply and manage the traceability system in the province

(sonla.gov.vn) Traceability plays an important role in tracking and recording in detail the stages of production, processing and transportation of products and goods. In recent times, Son La province has encouraged businesses and people to apply and use the QR code system to trace the origin of goods, aiming for a clean, safe and smart agriculture , increasing the value of products for producers and business activities of enterprises and cooperatives.

Products are given traceability stamps to create trust for consumers.

In the context of customers increasingly needing transparency in products, traceability helps consumers feel secure in using products with clear origins and guaranteed quality; at the same time, it helps State management agencies monitor product quality and prevent commercial fraud. Not only meeting the needs of domestic consumers, traceability also helps agricultural products get a "passport" to export abroad, especially agricultural products according to reputable standards such as: VietGap, GlobalGap, Organic. Through traceability, consumers can directly learn and collect information about the products they have purchased in the most complete and detailed way. Thereby, limiting the purchase of poor quality, fake, counterfeit goods, especially products that directly affect health such as: food, agricultural products, pharmaceuticals...

Currently, the whole province has over 90% of OCOP products with electronic stamps or codes, barcodes for traceability. The province has built 281 growing area codes with an area of over 4,600 hectares of fruit trees for export; 24 agricultural products have been granted protection certificates by the Department of Intellectual Property, Ministry of Science and Technology and 151 products have achieved OCOP certification. Therefore, building and developing a sustainable agricultural value chain in parallel with building traceability is an inevitable trend. When applying electronic traceability software, producers can update product records clearly and quickly, without spending much time recording and storing production diaries as in the traditional way. The information updated on electronic records will be very difficult to falsify and modify. This is an effective solution, helping producers build solid trust with consumers.

In order to raise awareness of society, agencies, organizations, enterprises, cooperatives and people about traceability of products and goods. Identifying and tracing the origin of products and goods helps to strictly control the stages from production, preservation, transportation to consumption... associated with production according to the value chain, to protect the health and interests of consumers, increase the value of products and goods, meet the increasing demands of the domestic and export markets. Son La Provincial People's Committee issued Plan No. 136/KH-UBND dated May 7, 2024 on the implementation of the "Project on deploying, applying and managing the traceability system" in Son La province in 2024.

The Provincial People's Committee requests departments, branches, units, People's Committees of districts and cities to focus on implementing specific contents including: Reviewing and preparing reports to assess the production and business status of enterprises, cooperatives, organizations and individuals, thereby selecting suitable products and goods, capable of implementing the construction of a Product and Goods Traceability System in 2024. Based on the results of the review and assessment report, carry out the implementation of Support and construction of a Product and Goods Traceability System for 30-40 products of enterprises, cooperatives, organizations and individuals in Son La province. Consulting and guiding enterprises, cooperatives, organizations, individuals and units in building, applying and using the Electronic Traceability System to ensure that the history of the production and distribution process of products can be traced to contribute to improving the quality management of products and goods; Enhance the reputation and brand value of products on the market. Support the application of new standards, criteria, and traceability technologies suitable for product groups and production status and production processes.

The application and management of the traceability system for the province's products helps people manage goods on a digital platform. So that the province's safe goods and agricultural products continue to affirm their quality in the market.
