Implementing a 90-day peak period to clean up marriage data and implementing a reduction in procedures for confirming marital status

Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long, Deputy Minister of Public Security, Deputy Head of the Working Group on Project 06, administrative procedure reform and digital transformation associated with Project 06 of the Government; Comrade Nguyen Thanh Tinh, Deputy Minister of Justice ; Comrade Pham Quoc Hung, Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court co-chaired the conference. The conference was broadcast online from the Ministry of Public Security to the Public Security of localities nationwide.

At the Tien Giang Provincial Police bridge, the conference was attended by Colonel Nguyen Minh Tan, Deputy Director of the Provincial Police, representatives of the People's Court and the Provincial Department of Justice, and Commanders of a number of professional units of the Provincial Police.

The plan has identified 5 key groups of tasks, including: Standardizing and synchronizing marriage, divorce, and marital status confirmation data from electronic civil status databases, Court data with the National Population Database under the Ministry of Public Security ; digitizing and cleaning divorce information data according to court judgments and decisions to update the National Population Database and display it on VNeID; piloting the use of marital status information on VNeID to serve the settlement of administrative procedures and transactions in accordance with the provisions of law; coordinating consultation, proposing amendments and supplements to relevant legal regulations to officially recognize the legal value of information displayed on VNeID in the settlement of administrative procedures; reducing the number of documents, simplifying administrative procedures related to marital status confirmation, and moving towards abolishing the traditional procedure of issuing marital status certificates.

Through this peak period, information on marriage, divorce, and single status will be updated accurately, promptly, and synchronously on the national information system, displayed on the national identification application VNeID, with legal value and authenticated by competent authorities, with high reliability. Thanks to that, people will not have to waste time applying for a certificate of marital status in administrative procedures, while creating conditions for agencies and units to coordinate to resolve administrative procedures quickly and accurately.

The plan to launch a 90-day peak period to clean up marriage data and implement the reduction of marriage status confirmation procedures starts from May 31 to August 31, 2025.
