Tuyen Quang province regularly organizes job fairs and provides counseling support for workers seeking employment under contract.
At the same time, the province is focusing on investing in essential infrastructure and advanced production support models, contributing to positive changes in the local socio -economic development.
To date, Tuyen Quang has completed the elimination of all temporary and dilapidated houses in the province, making a mark with many innovative approaches in this humanitarian work. The province has announced three typical house designs suitable for mountainous areas, ensuring the "three solid" standards (solid foundation, solid frame/walls, solid roof) with a lifespan of over 20 years. Notably, many poor households and ethnic minority households have received additional financial and material support to build houses that suit the identity, customs, and traditions of their respective regions.
During the period 2021-2025, the province received 50,000 billion VND from the central government to implement the National Target Program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas. Alongside this, poverty reduction models linked to commodity production development, community tourism , and the preservation of traditional culture have been effectively implemented. This has made a practical contribution to helping people stabilize their lives and improve their living standards.
The family of Mr. Duong Van Binh, residing in Hamlet 2, Thuoc Thuong Commune, Ham Yen District, used to live in a cramped, dilapidated old house. In 2024, thanks to a 50 million VND grant from the national target program, Mr. Binh borrowed an additional 100 million VND and received assistance in labor and materials from relatives and villagers to build a new, spacious house. Mr. Binh happily stated that now that they have a new house to live in, his family is very happy. The happiness they had long awaited has finally come true.
This provides motivation for families to confidently engage in business, develop the economy, and stabilize their lives. Recognizing labor export as one of the key solutions for rapid and sustainable poverty reduction, Tuyen Quang province has implemented a comprehensive range of support policies, expanded markets, and improved the quality of its young workforce. Following the merger, the province has strived to diversify markets and strengthen cooperation with reputable partners to ensure the best interests of workers.
Authorities have explored and expanded labor markets to developed countries such as Japan, South Korea, and Europe. Mr. Ha Van Bang from Bac Quang commune said that after participating in a job fair organized in the area, he chose to go to South Korea to work in agriculture, with an income of 40 to 50 million VND per month.
This amount was enough for him to send money back home to build a house and help his family open a shop selling household goods in his hometown. “If I hadn’t been bold enough to try back then, I would probably still be stuck farming. Now I have capital, experience, and more confidence to start my own business,” Mr. Bang shared. According to Ms. Hoang Thi Tham, Deputy Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religion of Tuyen Quang province, Tuyen Quang currently has about 1.25 million ethnic minority people, accounting for over 70% of the population, with 122 communes located in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
Identifying sustainable poverty reduction as a central task, the province has focused on integrating resources, mobilizing social contributions, strongly decentralizing power to the grassroots level, and promoting the proactive role of the people in implementing projects. Thanks to the synchronized implementation of ethnic policies and national target programs, the poverty rate among ethnic minority households in Tuyen Quang has decreased by an average of more than 5% per year, exceeding the target set by the Prime Minister and higher than the national average reduction.
The province has determined that, for poverty reduction to be truly sustainable, it needs to be implemented across all aspects and fields with practical support policies such as housing assistance for poor households, health insurance, legal aid, electricity subsidies, preferential credit, support for students from poor households, and specific policies for particularly disadvantaged areas. At the same time, it is necessary to improve the quality of professional training in project management, accounting, and supervision for commune officials, applying short, practical training methods; allocating resources flexibly, and mobilizing social resources...
According to Mr. Vuong Ngoc Ha, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tuyen Quang province: In the coming time, the province will support the conversion of suitable crops and livestock, connect value chains, and encourage cooperatives and social enterprises. The locality will create all conditions for people to access preferential loans, agricultural insurance, and business skills training programs; focus on strengthening the social security network for households at risk of falling back into poverty, combined with financial counseling services, family planning, and nutrition.
Relevant units are making efforts to mobilize and promote a change in mindset regarding dependence on support, encouraging people to become self-reliant and take control of their lives. For the period 2026-2030, Tuyen Quang province proposes that the central government continue to support the implementation of several key component projects, such as providing funding for projects related to the development of socio-economic infrastructure in poor communes; diversifying livelihoods and developing poverty reduction models; and developing vocational education and sustainable employment.
