After one month of implementing the arrangement and operation of the two-level local government, the socio -economic situation in Gia Lai province maintained its growth and development momentum, achieving positive results in all fields.
The situation of agricultural, forestry, fishery production, natural resources and environmental management continued to be stable and developed. The area of Summer-Autumn rice cultivation was estimated at over 42,162 hectares, up 2.7% over the same period and nearly 2,790 hectares were harvested, down 46.6% over the same period, due to the delay in sowing the Summer-Autumn crop; the area of Winter-Spring rice cultivation was over 45,580 hectares, up 10% over the same period last year. The epidemic situation, especially African swine fever, was basically under control; vaccination for livestock and poultry continued to be implemented according to plan. Forest protection and development was carried out seriously; forest planting, care and protection continued to be carried out effectively. Aquatic product output was estimated at nearly 26,690 tons, up 2.6% over the same period; Cumulative 7-month aquatic product output is estimated at nearly 176,270 tons, up 2.4% over the same period.
The industrial production index (IIP) increased by 6.5% over the same period. In the first 7 months of the year, the industrial production index increased by 8.9%. Industrial promotion and industrial development consulting programs continued to receive attention and implementation. Small-scale industrial and craft village production activities continued to develop steadily. Products of craft villages have met most of the consumption needs of people in the province... Urban planning and embellishment, construction of residential areas and social housing continued to receive attention and implementation. Notably, in July, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 1594/QD-TTg dated July 24, 2025 approving the Task of Adjusting the Master Plan for Construction of Nhon Hoi Economic Zone, Gia Lai Province (formerly Binh Dinh Province) until 2050.
Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in July 2025 are estimated at VND 18,379 billion, up 3.5% over the previous month and 16% over the same period last year. The total in the first 7 months of 2025 is estimated at VND 114,873.3 billion, up 11.1% over the same period. The import and export situation in the first 7 months of 2025 continues to maintain a stable growth momentum. As of July 2025, the total import and export turnover of Gia Lai province is estimated at 2,844.4 million USD, up 26.8% over the same period, of which: exports are estimated at 2,296.1 million USD, up 30.9%; imports are estimated at 548.4 million USD, up 11.9% over the same period. In July, the whole province is estimated to welcome 1.26 million tourists , up 14.6% over the same period. In the first 7 months of 2025, the whole province is estimated to welcome 8.64 million visitors, up 14.9% over the same period, of which international visitors are estimated at 75,130, up 8.9%; domestic visitors are estimated at over 8.56 million, up 14.9% over the same period. Cumulative tourism revenue in 7 months is estimated at 19,827 billion VND, up 12% over the same period.
Total state budget revenue from the beginning of the year to July 30, 2025 was VND 16,356 billion, reaching 67.9% of the estimate. Total state budget expenditure was VND 24,845 billion, reaching 57.6% of the estimate; of which regular expenditure was VND 15,120 billion, reaching 61.8% of the estimate.
Investment promotion and attraction work continues to be promoted; the province has attracted 05 new investment projects with a total registered investment capital of nearly 1,630 billion VND. In the first 7 months of 2025, the province attracted 123 investment projects with a total registered investment capital of over 57,485 billion VND.
The socio-cultural situation in the province continues to have many positive changes; social security is ensured, people's lives in the province are basically stable. National defense and security are maintained; political security and social order and safety are firmly maintained.

Concluding the conference, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan highly appreciated the efforts and solidarity of the staff, civil servants and public employees in implementing the two-level local government model; helping the government operate smoothly and without interruption right from the beginning.
Regarding the general orientation in the coming time, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan noted the need to focus on operating the two-level local government to ensure two major goals: The government must be closer to the people, closer to the people, and serve the people better; focus on developing the local socio-economy. In addition, the government must "think deeply, do big things", and carry out its tasks with the spirit of "accepting only results, not accepting reasons".
Regarding some key tasks in August, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan requested: Fully update the main socio-economic development indicators and key tasks for the period 2026 - 2030 for 135 communes and wards in the province. Work with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, Vietnam Rubber Industry Group on solutions to promote production, attract investment and ensure social security in the area. Focus on disbursing public investment capital, especially capital for national target programs and public investment capital from the central budget with additional targets for localities.
Localities must urgently develop a general plan, closely following the provincial and regional planning directions. In particular, the 7 land border communes need to urgently complete the plan to deploy the construction of local boarding and semi-boarding schools.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment focuses on reviewing and classifying poor and near-poor households; proposing solutions to sustainably reduce poverty in the province; reporting to the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, to be completed no later than this week. Note that this work needs to be linked to the implementation of the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction and vocational training for rural workers in the direction of "hand-holding and showing how to do things".
Strengthen the inspection of land and environmental resources management; focus on national defense and security work, ensuring social order and safety in the province. Focus on preparing necessary conditions to start construction works and projects to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) as planned. Successfully organize the Gia Lai Provincial Investment and Trade Promotion Conference 2025 in August. Deploy bidding and auction of projects, especially large projects and energy projects; deploy the construction of the Le Thanh International Border Gate Economic Zone. Continue to direct the organization of cultural and sports activities, celebrate major holidays in the area, especially organize activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Organize major events and festivals in the summer of 2025, focusing on the Gia Lai Tay area to attract tourists. Focus on accelerating site clearance, ensuring conditions for starting new, large-scale, breakthrough projects in 2025 such as: Quy Nhon - Pleiku Expressway Project; resettlement areas serving the North-South High-Speed Railway Project; North-South Expressway connecting project to Phu My Industrial Park and Phu My Port;... and key projects of the two provinces of Binh Dinh and Gia Lai in the past.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan requested departments and branches to provide maximum support to localities. Organize training, equip, update, and improve knowledge, professional skills, and expertise for the team of commune-level cadres and civil servants to meet the requirements of job positions and activities of the two-level local government. The Department of Science and Technology continues to coordinate with related departments to update training and fostering content and other related content to digitize and update the "Electronic Handbook for Training and Fostering" and create a data source for the tool "Virtual Assistant to Support Cadres, Civil Servants, and Public Employees" to serve the performance of public duties and the training and fostering of cadres, civil servants, and public employees.
Strengthen communication work; focus on propaganda, introduction, promotion of the image of the country, Gia Lai people, local specialties, ... to improve the efficiency of product consumption, attract tourism and investment to the province; along with that, upgrade the quality of tourism services in the province. Promote STEM and AI education programs in high schools; accelerate the implementation of digital transformation in education. Focus on promoting digital transformation in the health sector, especially the implementation of electronic medical records, remote diagnosis by imaging. Resolutely and effectively implement the Program and Plan on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation according to Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo.
Timely implement ethnic programs and policies; strengthen state management of religion. Proactively connect with diplomatic organizations and international organizations; provide and exchange information to promote, introduce potential, mobilize and call for foreign investment in the province. Continue to maintain good traditional relations with the provinces of Southern Laos and Northeastern Cambodia...
To achieve the above tasks, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan requested the entire political system to join in with the highest spirit, the highest responsibility and achieve the highest results. Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee focus on leading and directing the implementation of assigned fields and tasks; strengthen coordination in performing assigned duties and tasks; take the highest responsibility for the implementation results; promptly report, propose and make recommendations on issues beyond their authority for the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to consider and resolve. Leaders of departments and branches closely follow the conclusions of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee at the working session with departments and branches to implement tasks; regularly urge and create conditions for localities to effectively implement the fields under their charge. Central agencies located in the province closely coordinate, create favorable conditions for people and businesses, contributing to the overall socio-economic development of the province.
