Performing a musical about comrade Nguyen Ngoc Vu

The play had two successful performances last March and is scheduled to take place at 8:00 p.m. on April 26 at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Cultural Palace.

“Fire from the Earth” exploits the story from real characters, with the context from 1930 when the Communist Party of Vietnam was just born. The play tells the story of the revolutionary journey of comrade Nguyen Ngoc Vu with his family and friends as well as the people of Hanoi with a steadfast belief in the revolutionary ideals of the Party.

“Fire from the Earth” is directed by Meritorious Artist Cao Ngoc Anh, written by Le Quy Hien, with the creative participation of People's Artist Tran Ly Ly (Chief Choreographer), People's Artist Doan Bang (stage designer), musician Minh Dao (Music Director), artist Dao Duy Anh (stage director), artist Nguyen Thanh Cong (choreographer).

According to Meritorious Artist Cao Ngoc Anh, the musical “Fire from the Earth” was staged from the love and pride of the land and people of Hanoi by the entire crew. The work is a romantic epic performed according to the standards of a musical. More than 20 musical works were newly composed, colorful and combined many genres and musical forms specifically for the musical.

The show features a cast of well-known, professionally trained artists who have performed many successful musicals and are currently prominent faces in the Vietnamese musical industry such as Sao Mai Le Viet Anh, Tran Viet, Trung Hieu, Duong Minh Anh, Pham Van Tho. In particular, the show features Meritorious Artist Thanh Tam in the role of Mrs. Dam Thi - mother of comrade Nguyen Ngoc Vu.

The stage of the play is designed to reflect the characteristics of Hanoi streets in the early 20th century. The work also uses modern 3D mapping technology to enhance the audience experience.

The play attracted the attention of a large audience.

To realize the play, the implementation process received the joint efforts of departments, branches and organizations such as the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Hanoi Party Committee, the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, and the Hanoi Radio and Television Station.

The play also received support from the Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (VietinBank).
