Join hands to plant trees
According to the assessment of the Provincial Forest Protection Department, in recent years, environmental pollution and natural disasters have occurred more and more frequently, with increasingly severe damage; heat waves, droughts, and water shortages have occurred in many provinces and cities across the country. One of the leading causes of this situation is deforestation, reduction of green areas, and ecological imbalance. Therefore, planting trees, afforesting, and forest protection have become both urgent and long-term strategic tasks for our country in general and Binh Duong in particular.
Up to now, Binh Duong has a forest area of over 10,674 hectares, of which the forested area is over 9,942 hectares (including nearly 1,809 hectares of natural forest, over 8,133 hectares of planted forest), and the non-forested area is over 732 hectares. |
In the past 5 years, the province has issued 56 documents directing and implementing the planting of scattered trees, specifically the official dispatch on implementing the Project "Planting 1 billion trees in the period of 2021-2025", approving the Urban Tree Project in the province... In particular, every year the Provincial Party Committee launches and implements the movement "For a green Binh Duong" to celebrate President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19), with the spirit of calling on all organizations, individuals and communities to join hands in greening the area from the provincial level to the commune level, each neighborhood, hamlet, hamlet and every house. In addition, Party committees at all levels, authorities, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio -political organizations organize to disseminate, raise awareness, responsibility and fully and effectively implement the goals, tasks and solutions stated in the Urban Tree Project in the province.
Mass organizations, such as the Provincial Youth Union, actively propagate the purpose, meaning and importance of tree planting to local youth unions and associations; annually launch the "Green Sunday" movement and "Respond to the campaign to make the world cleaner" with many practical activities such as cleaning up the environment in residential areas, collecting and treating waste, planting trees, launching environmental protection propaganda teams, implementing models of "giving new clothes to old walls", "turning waste points into flower gardens"... with more than 1 million youth union members participating.
Contribute to sustainable development
Over the past 5 years, Binh Duong has planted about 2,597,000 trees of all kinds, contributing to increasing the forest and perennial tree coverage rate in the province to 57.5%. Of which, the Provincial Forest Protection Department provided forestry seedlings and planted nearly 72,000 trees; districts, cities, units and people planted about 754,000 trees; Becamex IDC Corporation planted and supported organizations and individuals in the province to plant about 1,771,000 trees.

Thereby contributing to building a green, clean, and beautiful ecological environment; minimizing the impact of climate change, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving the living environment for people; at the same time, it is also one of the important contents in the plan to build a smart city of Binh Duong.
