Exhibition "95 years under the glorious Party flag", "50-year mark - Hue strives to enter a new era of development"

NDO - In the atmosphere of celebrating the 50th anniversary of Hue Liberation (March 26, 1975 - March 26, 2025) and the 95th anniversary of the establishment of Hue City Party Committee (April 1930 - April 2025), on the afternoon of March 25, at the Hue City Cultural and Cinema Center, the opening ceremony of the thematic exhibition "95 years under the glorious Party flag" and "50-year imprints - Hue rises to a new era of development" took place.

Attending the opening ceremony were comrades: Standing Member of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh; Standing Member of the City Party Committee, Head of the City Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Hoang Khanh Hung; Member of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the City People's Council Ha Van Tuan; Member of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Phan Quy Phuong, along with representatives of leaders of departments, branches, and a large number of officials, students, and tourists.

Opening the exhibition space, City Party Committee member, Director of Hue City Department of Culture and Sports Phan Thanh Hai said: The thematic exhibition "95 years under the glorious Party flag" and "50-year imprint - Hue rises to a new era of development" with more than 400 images, documents, and artifacts are introduced to the public and visitors. These valuable documents, images, and artifacts bring viewers back to important milestones during 95 years of accompanying the Communist Party of Vietnam .

Under the light of the Party's guidelines, policies and wise leadership, Hue city has overcome many challenges to develop strongly, becoming one of the major cultural, academic, tourism, service, medical , scientific-technological centers of the country and the region.

Looking back on the 95-year journey under the glorious Party flag, we cannot help but mention the important historical events that the Party has led our people to overcome. From the early days of the Party's birth, to the days when the Party led the entire army and people to unite as one, overcoming all difficulties and challenges to gain independence and freedom for the nation.

In particular, during the resistance war against American imperialism to save the country, Hue made a great contribution to the great victory of the nation and the liberation of Hue city on March 26, 1975 was an important historical milestone.

Historical exhibitions take visitors back to Hue's glorious past over the past 50 years.

One of the special highlights is the area recreating the birth of the Thua Thien Hue Party Committee - now Hue city (April 1930), a milestone that opened a strong revolutionary movement of the people of Hue.

The glorious feats of arms in the August Revolution of 1945, the two resistance wars against France and the US, especially the 26 days and nights of the Mau Than Spring Offensive in 1968 and the Hue Liberation Campaign in March 1975, are all vividly recreated through films, documentary images and historical artifacts.

After the liberation day, overcoming difficulties and challenges caused by the devastation of war, weak economy, natural disasters, epidemics... The Party Committee, government and people of Thua Thien Hue province have united, strived, risen up, promoted internal strength, transformed their advantages and potentials to develop harmoniously on the basis of the unique identity of the ancient capital.

After 50 years of liberation, Hue today is not only a “living place of cultural heritages”, but also a place where the country and the world’s cultures converge and exchange. From ancient houses, traditional festivals, dishes imbued with the cultural identity of the ancient capital to the strong development of the fields of education, health, tourism, sports, science and technology…

Hue is still maintaining its position as a livable city and an attractive destination for domestic and foreign tourists. In the new opportunity of the whole nation, Hue city will join the country in entering a new era, an era of national growth, rapid and sustainable development on the basis of preserving and promoting the value of the ancient capital's heritage and Hue's cultural identity.

“Through documents and artifacts, this event also affirms that Hue is not only a heritage city, but also a dynamic, creative and potential urban area. This is a valuable opportunity for people and tourists to understand more deeply about the history and future of the ancient capital, where the past and present intersect to move towards a new era of development,” Mr. Hai emphasized.

The documents and images on display once again demonstrate the indomitable spirit of the army and people of Hue.

At the exhibition space, images and artifacts currently kept at the City History Museum such as oil lamps, garrison uniforms, ammunition baskets, document cases, etc. associated with our soldiers in the two resistance wars will be introduced.

In particular, the H12 rocket launcher - a weapon that played an important role in the 1975 general offensive and uprising - will also appear, as a powerful testament to the indomitable spirit of the army and people of Hue.

The exhibition content is divided into blocks.

The exhibition space also has a dedicated area displaying images and models of projects to preserve and promote the value of Hue's cultural heritage, helping people and visitors better understand the efforts to preserve the traditional beauty that the city is making.

In addition, typical products in Hue city such as Kim Long motor brand; export items; handicraft products and OCOP products are also introduced to the public.
