As part of a series of events celebrating the ceremony honoring Son La city as a member of the UNESCO "Global Learning Cities" network, on the morning of March 19, at the Northwest Square, Son La city held an opening ceremony and visited the exhibition booths, introducing traditional culture, local community activities; STEM/STEAMeducational products of schools.

Attending the opening ceremony were comrades: Ha Trung Chien, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Council; leaders of provincial departments, branches and sectors; Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city; Working delegations of Cao Lanh city, Dong Thap province and Vinh city, Nghe An province.

12 exhibition booths are divided into 2 areas, including: 6 exhibition booths recreating traditional cultural values of the city's ethnic groups, such as: Performing folk songs, folk dances and introducing unique culinary culture; weaving competitions, scarf embroidery competitions, tom mak le competitions, throwing con, stilts, and pushing sticks performed by artisans, mass actors, and athletes from the city's communes and wards.


6 exhibition booths introduce educational activities using modern methods, STEM/STEAM educational products of schools, with 17 models, including: Automatic hand washing machine - Stem product of grade 5; rubber band car model - product of grade 2 students; future life model on Mars - creative product of grade 3, with the theme "Earth and planets"; water orchestra of grade 1 students; automatic fire alarm and fire fighting system model; wind generator model, signal-free phone; creative products from colored paper, fashion with Stem...

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Tran Cong Chinh, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, emphasized: The 12 exhibition booths are a highlight within the framework of activities to celebrate Son La city being listed in the UNESCO "Global Learning Cities" network. Through cultural and educational spaces, it contributes to introducing to delegates, tourists and people the image of modern Son La city, always caring for the cause of education and training. At the same time, it still preserves the traditional values of a diverse, unique culture, imbued with the identity of ethnic groups.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, delegates visited the exhibition booths introducing traditional culture, local community activities; STEM/STEAM educational products of schools.
