From December 11, China reduced 25% of tourist visa fees for citizens of some countries, including Vietnam.
The notice of visa fee reduction was announced by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on December 8.
Accordingly, many Chinese Embassies and Consulates around the world will implement a temporary policy, reducing visa fees to 75% of the current level. The application period is from December 11 to December 31, 2024.

The list includes Vietnam and some neighboring countries such as Thailand, Japan, and the Philippines. The visa fee for Vietnamese citizens to enter China will be at least 45 USD.
According to Xinhua News Agency , this is considered the latest solution taken by the Chinese government to promote tourism in the country. Local Chinese diplomatic and consular agencies are ready to provide more detailed information, and continue to optimize visa and entry procedures, and adopt many favorable policies for foreigners to strengthen relations with countries around the world.
China currently waives visas for tourists from some European countries and two Southeast Asian countries, Malaysia and Singapore, to promote tourism.
