The latest information from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that at 1:00 p.m. this afternoon (September 2), the center of storm YAGI was at approximately 16.1 degrees North latitude; 122.5 degrees East longitude, in the sea east of Luzon Island (Philippines); Strong intensity level 8, gust level 11.

It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, storm YAGI will move mainly in the North-Northwest direction. It is likely that tomorrow night (September 3), the storm will cross the 120th meridian and enter the East Sea of our country.

Mr. Nguyen Van Huong, Head of Weather Forecasting Department (National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting) said that when storm YAGI moves into the East Sea, combined with atmospheric conditions (wind, air pressure), ocean (sea water temperature in the East Sea area is 30-31 degrees) will create favorable conditions for the storm to strengthen and move in a westerly direction.

"As of 1 p.m. on September 2, Vietnam and international forecasting centers agreed that when entering the East Sea, storm YAGI will move mainly in a westerly direction, with a tendency to increase in intensity," said Mr. Huong.

However, under the impact of storm YAGI's circulation, from tomorrow (September 3), the northeastern sea area of the North East Sea will be affected by storm YAGI's circulation. The northeastern sea area of the North East Sea will have winds gradually increasing to level 6, near the center of the storm will be strong at level 8, gusting above level 11; rough seas.

It is forecasted that from September 4-6, storm YAGI may reach very strong storm level in the Northeast of the East Sea, with maximum wind strength reaching level 12, gusting to level 15 near the center of the storm. In the next 24 hours, the sea area east of the North of the East Sea will have waves 2.0-4.0m high. After that (September 4-6), they may increase to 5-7m. The sea will be rough, very dangerous for ships.
