During the visit to China of the Communist Party of Vietnam delegation at the invitation of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, on March 18, in Jilin province, Head of the delegation Le Hoai Trung - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central External Relations Commission, held talks with Party Central Committee member, Head of the Central External Relations Commission of the Communist Party of China Liu Jianchao, reported VNA.
At the talks, the two sides discussed in depth the direction of thoroughly implementing high-level common perceptions, continuing to deepen and elevate the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, building a Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future of strategic significance, striving for the happiness of the people of the two countries, for the cause of peace and progress of mankind.
As the two strategic advisory bodies on foreign affairs of the two Parties, the two Central Foreign Affairs/Foreign Liaison Committees will strengthen coordination and cooperation to contribute to promoting the strategic orientation of the Party channel, continuing to develop the Vietnam-China relationship in a healthy, stable and sustainable manner.
Mr. Le Hoai Trung congratulated the great achievements that the Party, State and people of China have made in recent times in implementing the Resolution of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and in restoring and developing the economy.
In its independent and autonomous foreign policy, Vietnam considers developing relations with China a top priority and a strategic choice of Vietnam.
Liu Jianchao, Head of the Central Committee's International Liaison Department of the Communist Party of China, expressed his delight at the development of relations between the two Parties and countries in recent times, especially the fact that sectors and levels of the two countries have actively and proactively thoroughly implemented the high-level common perceptions of the two Parties and two countries.
Mr. Liu Jianchao shared Vietnam's opinions, affirming that China considers Vietnam a priority direction in its neighborly foreign policy, developing friendly and cooperative relations with Vietnam is a strategic choice, supporting Vietnam's strategic autonomy, and promoting a greater role in the region and the world.
Regarding maritime issues, Head of the Central External Relations Commission Le Hoai Trung suggested that the two sides strengthen their common awareness of the importance of maintaining peace and stability at sea, coordinate to properly handle maritime issues in the spirit of high-level common awareness, resolve disagreements through peaceful measures, in accordance with international law and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS); promote the effectiveness of negotiation mechanisms on maritime issues, seriously and effectively implement the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC), promote the building of a substantive, effective Code of Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (COC) in accordance with international law, including the 1982 UNCLOS.
During his visit and working in Jilin province, Mr. Le Hoai Trung will also meet with Mr. Canh Tuan Hai - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the National People's Congress of Jilin province; discuss directions for promoting economic, trade, investment, cultural and tourism cooperation between Jilin province and localities of Vietnam; visit and survey some economic and cultural establishments of the locality.
