Cuu Long University exempts and reduces 6.3 billion VND in tuition fees for new students

At the Opening Ceremony, Cuu Long University awarded full scholarships to 32 Khmer ethnic students, worth a total of 2.1 billion VND, and exempted or reduced tuition fees for 1,617 new students with a total amount of nearly 6.3 billion VND.

On October 21, Cuu Long University held the Opening Ceremony of Course 26 - Full-time university system, school year 2025 - 2026.

Master Le Ton Duc Hoa, Chairman of the University Council and Associate Professor Dr. Luong Minh Cu presented flowers to thank organizations and individuals who contributed to the scholarship fund of Cuu Long University for students.

“Cuu Long University is training in 4 fields: social sciences and humanities; economic sciences; engineering - technology and health sciences, with 38 majors and 90 narrow specialties. At the postgraduate level, the school is training 11 master's majors, 3 specialized majors I and 4 doctoral majors in Vietnamese Literature, Finance - Banking, Business Administration and Food Technology. The current student population is over 35,000 people. In November 2025, the school will inaugurate and put into use an 8-storey academic building with a total area of ​​8,000 m2 to serve the fields of Medicine - Pharmacy and modern laboratories and practices”, Associate Professor, Dr. Luong Minh Cu informed the new students at the Opening Ceremony.

In the 2025-2026 school year, Cuu Long University will admit 3,036 new students in the first round of admission, course 26. Of these, 32 are international students from the Kingdom of Cambodia and Lao PDR. The school is also accepting more international students from Laos, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, India, Japan and South Korea to study Vietnamese language programs and undergraduate and master's programs.

Master Le Ton Duc Hoa, Chairman of the School Council and Associate Professor, Dr. Luong Minh Cu presented scholarships and laptops to Valedictorian Le Quoc Trong, a new student of the Faculty of Medicine.

In recognition of the new students' academic achievements, Cuu Long University organized a reward ceremony for 6 new students with high scores in the 2025 regular university entrance exam (including 1 valedictorian and 5 salutatorians). The valedictorian was awarded 10 million VND and the excellent teacher, Associate Professor, Dr. Luong Minh Cu, was awarded an additional laptop worth 25 million VND. The salutatorians were awarded 8 million VND/student.

Also at the Opening Ceremony of Course 26, Cuu Long University awarded full scholarships to 32 Khmer ethnic students in the Mekong Delta provinces to enroll in full-time university training programs in 2025, with a total value of 2.1 billion VND.

Cuu Long University has awarded 262 scholarships to students from poor and near-poor households; orphans; children of war invalids, families with revolutionary contributions; new students who are ethnic minorities and in difficult circumstances, with a total value of 664 million VND. The school exempted or reduced tuition fees for 1,617 new students with a total amount of nearly 6.3 billion VND.

In particular, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the school's founding and welcoming the new school year, Cuu Long University gave each full-time university student 100,000 VND/student. The total amount of money donated was nearly 700 million VND.

The total budget for rewards and scholarships for the opening session of the 26th course - Full-time university system, school year 2025-2026 is nearly 9.8 billion VND.

On this occasion, more than 224 organizations and individuals contributed more than 1.6 billion VND to the scholarship fund of Cuu Long University for students with excellent academic achievements and students with difficult circumstances. Dr. Dang Thi Ngoc Lan, Vice Principal of Cuu Long University, awarded full scholarships to new Khmer ethnic students.

Over 25 years of construction and development, Cuu Long University has trained and awarded degrees to nearly 42,000 bachelors, engineers and more than 1,200 masters. According to statistics, the rate of students having jobs after graduating from school every year is over 97%. Since 2015, Cuu Long University has cooperated in training human resources for Laos and Cambodia. Up to now, the unit has received and trained more than 700 foreign students.
