This year, Foreign Trade University will recruit students using 4 methods, including recruiting students using high school academic results (reviewing transcripts); recruiting students using high school graduation exam results; recruiting students using domestic and international competency assessment certificates; and direct recruiting.
For candidates using domestic competency assessment certificates, the school accepts applications from candidates with scores of 100/150 points or higher on the competency assessment test organized by Hanoi National University (HSA exam) or 850/1,200 points or higher on the competency assessment test of Ho Chi Minh City National University in 2025 (APT exam).
The Foreign Trade University plans to convert the test scores of candidates' abilities to a 30-point scale according to the following formula:
The converted score on the 30-point scale of the HSA assessment test = 27 + (candidate's assessment score - 100)*3/50 + priority points and regional bonus points (if any).
Thus, if the candidate does not have priority points and regional bonus points, the expected converted score is as follows:
| HSA score on a 150-point scale | 100 | 110 | 120 | 130 | 140 | 145 | 150 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Convert to 30 scale | 27 | 27.2 | 28.2 | 28.8 | 29.4 | 29.7 | 30 |
The converted score on the 30-point scale of the APT capacity assessment = 27 + (candidate's capacity assessment score - 850)*3/350 + priority points and regional bonus points (if any).
If the candidate does not have priority points and regional bonus points, the expected converted score is as follows:
| APT score on a 1,200 scale | 850 | 900 | 950 | 1,000 | 1,050 | 1,100 | 1,150 | 1,200 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Convert to 30 scale | 27 | 27.42 | 27.85 | 28.28 | 28.71 | 29.14 | 29.57 | 30 |
In case of converting HSA assessment scores to a 40-point scale, Foreign Trade University will convert according to the following formula:
Conversion score = {[27 + (Candidate's ability assessment score - 100)3/50] + priority and regional points (if any)}*4/3.
Previously, the University of Commerce also announced the admission score for candidates using the thinking assessment test results of Hanoi University of Science and Technology (TSA test) as 50/100 points and the capacity assessment test of Hanoi National University as 80/150 points.
Admission scores are converted to a 30-point scale by the University of Commerce according to the following formula:
Admission score (maximum 30) = (total score of the assessment test * 30/150) * Ka + priority points (if any) + bonus points (if any).
Admission score (maximum 30) = (total score of thinking assessment test * 30/100) * Kb + priority points (if any) + bonus points (if any).
In which, Ka and Kb are coefficients reflecting the difference in test difficulty/differentiation of candidates' level. The University of Commerce will announce the coefficients Ka and Kb after the 2025 high school graduation exam results are available.
Similarly, the Banking Academy said it accepts applications from candidates with HSA scores of 85/150 or higher.
Accordingly, admission score = HSA assessment test score x 3 + priority points.
Banking Academy converts HSA competency assessment test scores specifically as follows:
