On November 20, Hanoi Medical University solemnly celebrated the 43rd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day and announced and presented awards from the State and the Ministry of Health .
Professor, Dr. Nguyen Huu Tu, Principal of the school said: Over the past 123 years, teachers and students of Hanoi Medical University have worked hard to overcome all difficulties, together sowing seeds and nurturing knowledge, lighting the fire of medical ethics and compassion. From this school, tens of thousands of excellent doctors, scientists and physicians have spread to all regions, quietly dedicating themselves to the cause of protecting and caring for people's health and making great contributions to the development of the country's medicine.
The year 2025 marks a great step forward for the school in its strong transformation process, affirming itself as a research-oriented university that meets regional and international standards.
Over the past 5 years, the school has strongly innovated university administration in the direction of modernization and digitalization; fundamentally and comprehensively innovated university training programs; ranked 501-600 among the world's leading health universities... These outstanding successes are the result of the determination and tireless efforts of all teachers, staff and students, and the strength of the spirit of solidarity, creativity and dedication.

Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Lien Huong, Deputy Minister of Health affirmed: The Ministry of Health always highly appreciates the role, position and sustainable contributions of Hanoi Medical University in training high-quality medical human resources, in scientific research, technology transfer, innovation and international integration. These are important contributions to help enhance the reputation and position of Vietnam's health sector in the international arena.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Lien Huong said that the health and education sectors are facing a period of great transformation, a pivotal period in terms of institutions, operating models and standardization of human resource quality.
In recent times, the Party and the State have paid great attention to the development of education, training and healthcare, through the issuance of strategic documents such as the Politburo's Resolutions on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation; on international integration in the new situation; on breakthroughs in education and training development; on a number of breakthrough solutions to strengthen the protection, care and improvement of people's health. The Resolutions have put forward many breakthrough policies and strategic orientations in the work of education and training of health human resources.

According to Resolution No. 72-NQ/TW on a number of breakthrough solutions to strengthen the protection, care and improvement of people's health, the health sector must develop health human resources to ensure uniformity in quantity, quality and structure, especially human resources serving grassroots health care, preventive health care, remote areas, disadvantaged areas, especially disadvantaged areas, border areas, and islands; especially implementing specialized specialized training, linked to practice, and emphasizing practical capacity and medical ethics.
In parallel, Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in education and training development has clearly pointed out the requirement to strongly shift from content-based training to competency-based training, develop an open education system, lifelong learning, and strongly apply digital technology.
This is the ideological and legal foundation to promote comprehensive innovation in medical human resource training, towards modernization, standardization, and integration while still preserving the identity of Vietnamese medicine.
With a 123-year tradition, a team of highly qualified and dedicated lecturers, Hanoi Medical University will successfully complete its strategic goals, contributing to building a modern, equitable and effective Vietnamese healthcare system.
