Today (July 24), Ho Chi Minh City University of Science announced the update of the input quality assurance threshold based on the 2025 competency assessment exam (method 3) and the admission floor score of the two majors of microchip design and semiconductor technology.

The minimum score for the competency assessment test for various majors is from 550 to 780 points. Compared to the minimum score announced a week ago, the admission score for many majors has decreased from 600 to 550, such as: material science, oceanography , environmental science, etc.

The guaranteed entrance threshold for the two majors of microchip design and semiconductor technology is also adjusted in the methods of considering high school graduation exam scores and capacity assessment exam scores.

With the method based on the 2025 capacity assessment exam, the floor score for these two majors will decrease from 850 to 765 points. In addition, candidates need to have an average math score of 8.0 or higher in grades 10, 11, and 12 on a 10-point scale; Candidates who achieve the capacity assessment score when converted to the 2025 high school score correspond to the group of 25% of candidates with a combined score for admission in the percentile table of the Ministry of Education and Training (equivalent to 20.1 points for the A01 combination).

The method is based on the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam. When registering for admission, candidates must satisfy all of the following conditions. First, the candidate's admission subject combination must include math and at least one of the following subjects: physics, chemistry, and informatics. Second, the candidate must be in the group of 25% of candidates with the highest admission subject combination score nationwide in 2025, with a minimum subject combination equivalent to 20.1 points for the A01 combination (according to the Official Dispatch on comparing the score distribution of some high school exam score combinations in 2025 and high school study scores of the Ministry of Education and Training). Third, the candidate must have a minimum math score of 6.5.
