Regarding the case of a dean of Hanoi Law University being "accused" of rape, at a regular press conference on the afternoon of April 19, Ms. Bui Thi Thuy, Deputy Head of the Department of Organization and Personnel ( Ministry of Justice ), said that based on the verification of the case, Hanoi Law University has taken disciplinary action against the official, in the form of a warning. At the same time, the official is required to seriously review and learn from experience.
According to Ms. Bui Thu Thuy, based on regulations, considering the wishes of individuals and requirements for personnel work, Hanoi Law University has resolved to let the civil servant quit his job and terminate the labor contract from January 1, 2023 for the above-mentioned head of department.
Ms. Bui Thuy Thuy said that the University of Law has taken disciplinary action against the official.
Previously, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper reported that Hoang Mai District Police (Hanoi City) were verifying the complaint of Ms. VNH (born in 1998, residing in Hanoi), accusing Mr. LMT (residing in Thinh Liet Ward, Hoang Mai District) of rape and beating. According to the complaint, Mr. T. is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of a general hospital in Hanoi and the Dean of the Faculty at Hanoi Law University.
After the press reported the information, Hanoi Law University said that the school had assigned the relevant units within the school to receive, process, verify, clarify and resolve according to their authority; ensuring objectivity, strictness and compliance with regulations. The school affirmed that it would resolutely handle violations (if any), without evasion or cover-up.
