The "connected teaching" program organized by Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted teaches students of high-quality secondary schools in the province to improve enrollment quality for the 2025-2026 school year.

Improving the quality of input recruitment is to improve the quality of training, ensure output, maintain and enhance the school's position. Over the years, the recruitment work of Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted has always been carefully prepared, regularly innovated to suit reality, creating conditions for students to develop their abilities, while ensuring the principles of fairness, objectivity and transparency. The school's board of directors has had many synchronous solutions to improve the quality of recruitment sources.

One of the important solutions is to promote coordination with high-quality secondary schools in the province, organize professional exchange activities, provide review materials, share sample exam questions, etc. Thereby, secondary school teachers have the opportunity to provide in-depth training for talented students. Along with that, there are direct and online admissions consulting activities, helping parents and students better understand the training model, policies, learning and living conditions at the school. In particular, the school focuses on promoting effective communication from former students of the school who have been successful in their studies and careers, creating a strong source of inspiration for the next generation of students.

Another important solution is to improve the quality of teaching, comprehensive education and training of key talents; increase extracurricular activities, career guidance, and skills education to develop students' qualities and skills (promote club activities, participate in playgrounds, competitions, and science and technology competitions at provincial, national, and international levels; national and international office informatics competitions); strengthen international cooperation in education (seek opportunities to exchange students with countries with developed education; orient and support students to participate in international competitions, seek foreign scholarships, etc.).

In particular, to improve the quality of enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year, the Department of Education and Training has directed the school to closely coordinate with educational institutions throughout the province to implement increasingly improved enrollment quality, such as: organizing a workshop on enrollment for grade 10 at Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted; organizing online teaching for grade 9 students who wish to take the entrance exam to the school, with 9 specialized subjects, each subject is expected to have 10 sessions, completely free of charge.

According to the enrollment plan of the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Education and Training, this year, the 10th grade entrance exam will be held for both specialized and non-specialized students in the province at the same time. For Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, students who register for a specialized class will take the exam for that specialized subject, instead of enrolling in some classes such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Information Technology, taking the specialized Math exam as in previous years. This is a reasonable adjustment, contributing to improving the quality of classifying students according to their abilities. The specialized subject score is calculated with a coefficient of 3 (previously a coefficient of 2), which further emphasizes the role of specialized subjects in the process of assessing students' abilities. At the same time, to increase selectivity, students who have been admitted to Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted will not be considered for admission to other public high schools in the same enrollment period. On the contrary, students who have not been admitted will be considered equally according to their wishes at other schools like candidates who have not registered for the specialized exam. The above innovations aim to create a positive competitive environment, helping students have a clear orientation, focus on the right focus, and ensure improved quality of school admissions.

In response to changes in admission methods and to improve admission quality, the Department of Education and Training recently organized a workshop to improve the quality of admission to grade 10 at Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted with the participation of leaders of the Department of Education and Training, leaders of district and city education and training departments and principals of high-quality secondary schools. In particular, one of the recent "kick-off" activities, the "Connected Teaching and Learning" program organized by Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted in coordination with secondary schools, has become a "focus" in the strategy to improve admission quality for the 2025-2026 school year. The first class held on April 12 had nearly 1,000 grade 9 students from high-quality secondary schools across the province attending. Through online learning, students are introduced to key topics of 9 specialized subjects, directly taught by highly qualified teachers, answering questions and providing review guidance. The program has received positive feedback from students, parents and teachers of secondary schools. Because this is not only an activity to support knowledge, but also plays an important role in connecting passions, nurturing the desire to conquer the dream specialized school. It is expected that the next classes will take place on May 10 and May 24, 2025, with content continuing to be consistent with the review progress, in order to provide comprehensive support, creating the best conditions for students to take the entrance exam to the school.

Mr. Pham Thanh Ngoc, Principal of Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, said: The school clearly defines its responsibility in selecting and training excellent students. Therefore, with the close guidance of the province and the Department of Education and Training, the school has proactively developed a comprehensive support plan for the 10th grade entrance exam, such as arranging buses to pick up students from distant districts to the exam site, and arranging free accommodation at the dormitory on the exam days of June 4 and 5, 2025. From now until June 2025, the school will continue to implement various forms of communication: designing school introduction clips, publishing admission handbooks, organizing admission consultation days at the school... to search for, nurture and attract excellent students, at the same time, giving students the opportunity to experience, learn and prepare mentally for the exam. Along with that, the activities that have been and are being implemented include: Exchange - admission consultation at secondary schools; Organize tours for students to experience the school environment; provide review materials and organize professional exchanges between school teachers and teachers from secondary schools... In addition, the school also recommends that the province and the Department of Education and Training continue to consider adjusting regulations on extra teaching and learning to facilitate the review of specialized subjects at secondary schools; have a mechanism to encourage good teachers to teach at specialized schools; provide additional support in terms of facilities, especially dormitories, to better meet the needs of students from far away. In the long term, there needs to be synchronous coordination between secondary schools and specialized schools in the work of discovering, orienting and nurturing excellent students early. This not only helps improve the quality of enrollment but also creates a solid foundation for nurturing excellent students at national, regional and international levels in the future.
