Memorial service and burial of 18 martyrs' remains in Ia Boong commune, Gia Lai

On the afternoon of November 11, at Chu Prong Martyrs Cemetery, Gia Lai province, a solemn ceremony was held to pay respects, pay respects and bury the remains of 18 martyrs who died at point E7, H5, Ia Boong commune.

The ceremony took place solemnly, expressing the wishes of the Party, State and relatives of martyrs' families in searching for and gathering martyrs for burial at martyr cemeteries.

According to Steering Committee 515, from October 6 to 20, 2025, Team K52 coordinated with the Party Committee and the Ia Boong Commune government to search at 6 locations with information in Ga village and Ninh Phuc hamlet. After a period of searching, the unit discovered 18 martyrs' remains in Mr. Ksor Tan's garden in Ga village, Ia Boong Commune.

At the memorial service, Vice Chairwoman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich stated that Gia Lai was a key battlefield in the two long-term resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism and also held a special strategic position in Inter-Zone 5 and the Central Highlands. Here, under the leadership of the Party, the army and people of all ethnic groups in Gia Lai achieved many resounding victories such as: Dak Po Victory (1954); the battles of Ka Nak, Thanh An, Le Thanh, Phu Nhon (1960); Pleime Campaign (1965); Mau Than General Offensive 1968 and hundreds of battles in the period 1969 - 1974, bringing the country back together.

Point H5, Ia Boong commune - where 18 martyrs died - was also a strategic gateway, the operating area of ​​the Central Highlands Front - B3 with many main units such as Regiments 33, 66, 95, 320; BB1, 968, 10 Divisions; armed propaganda teams of Zone 5 and militia and guerrillas stationed. This is also the area that marked many decisive battles on the Central Highlands battlefield.

Vice Chairwoman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich affirmed that the search, collection and return of the remains of martyrs to the cemetery is the earnest wish of the Party, the State and the martyrs' families, and at the same time a deep gratitude to those who sacrificed their lives for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. She expressed her emotion when the martyrs "rest forever in the bosom of the heroic motherland of Gia Lai" and affirmed that the province will continue to implement the policy for people with meritorious services, taking full and timely care of the martyrs' relatives.
