Tale of Kieu - Timeless values

This morning, the Fund for Preservation and Promotion of the Heritage Values ​​of Nguyen Du and the Tale of Kieu organized a scientific workshop with the theme: "The Tale of Kieu - Timeless Values". Attending the workshop were Comrade Hoang Trung Dung, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Comrade Le Ngoc Chau, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; along with domestic and foreign scholars and researchers; members of the Vietnam Kieu Studies Association in Ha Tinh.

The workshop was attended by many domestic and foreign Kieu Studies researchers.

Speaking at the workshop, comrade Le Ngoc Chau, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed: Proud to be the hometown of the great poet Nguyen Du, Ha Tinh is making efforts to preserve and promote the enormous literary heritage left by the great poet.

Comrade Le Ngoc Chau hopes that the Workshop will be an opportunity to continue to evaluate the ideological and artistic values ​​of “Truyen Kieu” and at the same time contribute to bringing Nguyen Du’s heritage into modern life. The presentations will also suggest many solutions in preserving and promoting the value of “Truyen Kieu”, bringing the masterpiece closer to the younger generation and international friends.

The workshop attracted nearly 30 presentations, focusing on 4 groups of content, including: Timeless values ​​of The Tale of Kieu viewed from the perspective of Ideological value, Artistic value, Cultural value, and Social life.

Many papers also compared the process of cultural exchange and acculturation between the masterpiece "Faust" by the great German poet Goethe and "The Tale of Kieu" by Nguyen Du; the contribution of The Tale of Kieu to the process of cultural and literary unification of the nation from the late 10th century to the early 20th century...

Previously, at the special national relic Nguyen Du Memorial Site, the delegates came to offer flowers and incense at the tomb and shrine of the Great Poet. The delegation also came to offer incense at the relic site of Nguyen Cong Tru - a politician , military man, economist, and a talented poet and cultural figure in modern Vietnamese history.
