In a recent program, CCTV said it had discovered five companies in Zhengzhou, Wuhan and Henan that provided services to help students register and complete a vocational intermediate program (3 years) without having to attend class, at a cost of 20,000 yuan (nearly 69 million VND), according to the news site Business Insider .
CCTV said that employees of these companies help students register for admission to vocational secondary schools.
Appearing on CCTV with their faces obscured, some counselors claimed that the 20,000 yuan collected from students was used as a “relationship fee” for colleges. “Students don’t need to come to class,” one counselor said.
Another consultant revealed: "Students only need to provide personal information, home address and a photo ID to complete the admission application. After paying the fee, we will sign the contract and provide the student with an admission certificate."
In addition, CCTV interviewed a number of counselors from five junior colleges in Zhengzhou, Wuhan and Henan. The school staff also provided the above service and students only “appeared” once per semester.
These are secondary schools that offer training in a variety of professions from aerospace engineering, automotive industry to information technology and other technical fields.

A counselor at a vocational school said they could arrange for “absent-from-class” students to check in on the system every day.
This person added, only 3 customers "don't want to go to school but still have a vocational degree" are limited to each class.
The issue has become a hot topic of debate on Chinese social media site Weibo. In recent years, the Chinese government has been cracking down on student-surrogate students, exam-takers, and exam cheating.
