Proud and profound with the program "Hanoi - From the historic autumn of 1945"

“Hanoi - From the historic autumn of 1945” is a historical slice of the past 80 years recreated through art. The program has left a deep impression on the audience, evoking pride, patriotism, love of homeland and gratitude towards the previous generation of those living in the new era, especially the young generation.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and   National Day   Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), on the evening of August 15, at August Revolution Square ( Hanoi ), the City Party Committee, People's Committee, People's Council, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi organized a special art program called "Hanoi - From the historic autumn of 1945".

Attending the program were Politburo members: Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister; Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission; Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee; Le Minh Tri, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court; Party Central Committee members: Vu Hong Thanh, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly; Tran Sy Thanh, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee.

On behalf of the Party Committee, government and people of the capital, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh stated that 80 years ago, at August Revolution Square today, the historic rally of the capital's people took place on August 19, 1945.

From here, the revolutionary fire, patriotism and determination to gain independence and freedom of the Vietnamese people burned and spread, creating a brilliant milestone: Vietnam gained independence after a long night of slavery, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam was born on September 2, 1945.

The event was a brilliant milestone in the history of building and defending the country of the Vietnamese people, opening a new era - the era of independence and freedom associated with socialism, bringing our people from the status of slaves to become masters of the country and their own destiny.

Over the past 80 years, especially nearly 40 years of renovation, under the wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the country and the capital Hanoi have achieved many great and historic achievements in all fields.

The special art program “Hanoi - From the historic autumn of 1945” not only reminds us of the glorious and heroic history of the Vietnamese people from the brilliant August of 1945, but also spreads a strong message of the self-reliance and aspiration of the entire nation.

“Hanoi - From the Historic Autumn of 1945” is an art program that is both political and epic about one of the most important events in Vietnamese history, with many creative techniques, the artistic quintessence of scholarly, national and international art forms, applying modern technology interacting with a number of contemporary art genres and styles.

At the beginning of the program, the audience had a moment of silence when the architecture of the Opera House became the background for 3D Mapping images summarizing the journey of the young man Nguyen Tat Thanh to find a way to save the country until he returned to the country, led the Revolution and became President Ho Chi Minh.

“Hanoi - From the historic autumn of 1945” consists of 3 chapters and 6 episodes, elaborately and magnificently staged, recording important historical slices during the 80 years since the successful August Revolution until now.

Through the performances of artists: People's Artist Tan Minh, Meritorious Artist Dang Duong, Meritorious Artist Tran Lin, singer Khanh Linh, singer Hoang Hai, singer Van Mai Huong, singer Dong Hung, singer Lam Bao Ngoc, Oplus Group... and artists of Thang Long Music and Dance Theater, the audience relives heroic moments with mash-ups of songs such as: Guerrilla Song (Do Nhuan), Tieng goi Thanh nien (Luu Huu Phuoc), Diet fascism (Nguyen Dinh Thi), Cung nhau di hong binh (Dinh Nhu); to the song Muoi 9 thang tam (Xuan Oanh), and the choir Tien Quan ca (Van Cao).

The audience also enjoyed performances that expressed the lyrical, romantic, gallant and heroic features of the people of Hanoi, who remained steadfast in their patriotism and love for their people, determined to sacrifice themselves to regain independence and freedom for the nation in general and for the thousand-year-old land of Thang Long in particular. Along with that were performances that showed a dynamic, modern Hanoi entering a new era with the country.

With the participation of nearly 1,000 artists, actors and the application of modern sound and lighting technology, the art program "Hanoi - From the historic autumn of 1945" has evoked pride, patriotism, love for the homeland and gratitude towards the previous generation of those living in the new era, especially the young generation.
