According to the news of the Hue City Hydrometeorological Station, at 1:00 p.m. on August 28, the center of the tropical depression was located at about 15.3 degrees North latitude; 115.7 degrees East longitude in the North East Sea, about 420km East Southeast of Hoang Sa special zone. The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression was level 6-7 (39-61km/h), gusting to level 9, moving southwest at a speed of 10-15km/h.

Forecast by 1:00 p.m. on August 29, the low pressure area will be at 16.7 degrees North latitude -112.3 degrees East longitude, in the Hoang Sa special zone sea area; intensity level 7, gust level 9; moving in the West Northwest direction, 15-20km/h and likely to strengthen.

Due to the influence of the tropical depression that is likely to strengthen into a storm, from August 29-31, inland Hue City will have rain, scattered moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms. During thunderstorms, beware of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind; sea areas will have winds of level 4-5, then gradually strengthening to level 6, gusting to level 7-8.

Waves are 0.5-1.5m high, then gradually increase to 2-3m, rough seas; near the center of the tropical depression, waves are 3-4m high, rough seas. Ships operating at sea are advised to take precautions and avoid entering dangerous areas to ensure safety.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment requests units, localities and People's Committees of communes and wards to proactively organize close monitoring of forecast information, developments of natural disasters/storms, and heavy rains, promptly direct and deploy response work according to the "four on-site" motto, not to be passive or surprised to ensure safety of life and minimize property damage for people.
