Kon Tum province has nearly 300km of border with two neighboring countries, Laos and Cambodia. Recently, Kon Tum has strengthened the sustainable development of the economy and society in the border area, creating momentum for socio-economic development. Accordingly, Kon Tum has requested border districts and related units to continue updating the situation, policies and guidelines of the Party and State, and plans approved by competent authorities to develop an implementation plan with specific tasks, work, and completion time, ensuring a balance of resources for implementation.
Along with continuing to review and advise competent authorities on the development of mechanisms and policies on socio-economic development, combined with strengthening national defense and security, and foreign affairs in border areas. Border localities proactively propose to competent authorities projects to attract investment; at the same time, support businesses investing in the area to mobilize resources for socio-economic development, develop infrastructure to ensure social security, associated with national defense and security in accordance with the characteristics and reality of each locality, mobilize and effectively use other legal resources to invest in essential infrastructure, serving production and life, especially developing a transport infrastructure system connecting from developed economic regions to disadvantaged areas. Effectively implement the high-level agreements between Vietnam - Laos, Vietnam - Cambodia, including cooperation to ensure border security, recognize the achievements of border demarcation and marker planting, resolve complicated issues arising, areas where border demarcation and marker planting have not been completed and develop border areas. Synchronously implement solutions on production development in border areas, participate in building and perfecting specific policies on investment incentives, cooperation development, production linkage and consumption of agricultural and rural products; focusing on developing diverse production models with the participation of ethnic minority households, poor households and near-poor households in border areas [caption id="attachment_1217929" align="aligncenter" width="300"]Bich Huong
