Tay Ninh youth show gratitude and continue tradition

July comes, awakening in every Vietnamese child the sacred emotion of gratitude towards generations of fathers and brothers who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. For Tay Ninh youth, this is also an opportunity to demonstrate the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source" through practical actions.

Since the beginning of July, the Youth Union at all levels in the province has organized 742 visits to families of policy beneficiaries, war invalids and martyrs; cared for 77 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, war invalids, sick soldiers and former youth volunteers; and organized 102 family reunion meals at the families of meritorious people.

The Youth Union at all levels also provided free medical examinations and medicine to more than 900 meritorious people and policy families; and presented more than 500 scholarships and rewards to children of meritorious people, with a total value of gifts and cash of up to 2.1 billion VND.

Tay Ninh Youth also contributed to preserving historical values by renovating 105 cemeteries and memorials, carrying out 76 cemetery lighting projects, cleaning more than 56,900 martyrs' graves, restoring and presenting 44 martyrs' portraits to their families.

Secretary of the Youth Union of Binh Cu 1 Ward ( Long An Ward) Huynh Hoai Vu emotionally said: "Today's generation is able to live in peace thanks to the sacrifice of their youth and blood of those who fought on the battlefield. On occasions like this, we go to the cemetery to clean and burn incense as a way to show gratitude and continue the tradition."

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union Pham Van Hau affirmed that Tay Ninh youth are constantly united and creative; join hands and unite to overcome all difficulties and challenges; strive to contribute to building the homeland to be more and more prosperous and civilized, to repay the great sacrifices of previous generations and to be worthy of being the new generation of Tay Ninh youth./.
