Julian Alvarez has been linked with a number of clubs, but Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo remains calm and says the Argentina international wants to stay at the capital club long-term.
"Julian has a contract and he has to finish it, like everyone else. Julian is a player we want and he wants to stay here, to contribute to the club for another five or six years. We will not negotiate with any club about him," Mundo Deportivo quoted Cerezo as saying.

Alvarez has scored 10 goals in 17 appearances this season in all competitions. |
“Now, if a team comes to buy a player and he wants to leave, the club will immediately accept. But unfortunately, at the moment, there is not a single name that wants to leave Atletico," the "Rojiblancos" president declared.
Previously, Spanish media reported that Barcelona considered Alvarez as an option to replace Robert Lewandowski, who will leave Camp Nou after the 2025/26 season due to the expiration of his contract.
The reigning La Liga champions are ready to spend more than 100 million euros to bring in the former Manchester City star. However, Atletico Madrid have shown a tough attitude and declared that they will not let their key player fall into the hands of a direct competitor again.
