In yesterday's competition, the U.21 Vietnam women's volleyball team defeated U.21 Egypt with a score of 3-1 while the U.21 Chile team also defeated U.21 Mexico with a score of 3-0. This result brought the representative of the Southeast Asian region to meet the team of the South American region in the round of 17 to 20.

In the group stage of the U.21 Women's Volleyball World Cup this year, U.21 Chile is in Group D with U.21 Japan, U.21 Brazil, U.21 Bulgaria, U.21 Thailand, U.21 Tunisia. In the opening match, this team surprisingly won 1 game against the strongest team in this group, U.21 Japan. In the second match, U.21 Chile lost 0-3 to Brazil but made an impressive comeback with a 3-2 victory over U.21 Bulgaria. Losing 0-3 to U.21 Thailand in the fourth match caused U.21 Chile to miss the chance to enter the round of 16. The 3-1 victory over U.21 Tunisia in the final match could not help them turn the situation around, so they accepted a 5/6 ranking. This result helped the South American team enter the round of 17 to 24.
