On the morning of April 13, the Vietnam U17 team arrived at Noi Bai airport, Hanoi after a nearly 24-hour flight from Taif city, Saudi Arabia.
At the airport, representatives of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) including Deputy General Secretary Nguyen Minh Chau and Head of National Teams Doan Anh Tuan welcomed the U17 Vietnam team.
During the journey to the 2025 AFC U17 Finals, despite being in a group with top opponents in the continent, the Vietnamese U17 players remained undefeated with three draws with the same score of 1-1 against U17 Australia, U17 Japan and U17 UAE.
Despite missing out on a ticket to the U17 World Cup, coach Cristiano Roland and his team still left a good impression on fans and experts.
VFF assessed the performance of U17 Vietnam as a positive signal for the future of youth football in the country.
During the farewell moment with the players at the airport, head coach Cristiano Roland advised and encouraged the whole team to continue to improve themselves, maintain the fighting spirit and the aspiration to rise of Vietnamese football.
The Brazilian coach confided: "Greater opportunities await, and I believe many of you will go even further in the national team."
After training with U17 Vietnam, the players will return to their home clubs to practice and continue their development journey, with the goal of being promoted to the first team, as well as playing for the national team at higher levels.
