Vietnam U19 women beat Myanmar in the first half

The Vietnam U19 women's team defeated Myanmar U19 women's team in the opening match of the 2025 Southeast Asian U19 Women's Championship in Ho Chi Minh City.

On the evening of June 9, the Vietnam U19 women's team defeated Myanmar U19 women's team 2-0 in the opening match of the 2025 Southeast Asian U19 Women's Championship held at Thong Nhat Stadium.

This is considered the decisive match for the top spot in Group A between the two strongest teams in the group. Vietnam U19 women are the current runners-up, while Myanmar U19 women ranked 3rd in the previous tournament.

With better physique than the Vietnamese girls, the Myanmar U19 women's team attacked from the start and immediately created a dangerous scoring opportunity. However, goalkeeper Le Thi Thu made an excellent save to block Sandar Lin's dangerous cross-angle shot.

By defeating Myanmar U19 women 2-0, the Vietnam U19 women's team not only had a good start in the 2025 Southeast Asian U19 Women's Championship but also avoided meeting the defending champion Thailand U19 women's team in the semi-finals. Because in the opening match, Thailand U19 women's team defeated Indonesia 6-1 and almost certainly won Group B.

On June 11, the Vietnam U19 women's team will meet U19 Timor Leste in the second round at Thong Nhat Stadium. U19 Timor Leste is the weakest team in Group A after losing 0-2 to U19 Laos in the opening match.
