The U22 Vietnam team had their first training session at Ba Ria Stadium on the afternoon of April 17, starting the sprint towards the 32nd SEA Games.
Even though the team has not gathered enough strength, because some players are still competing in round 7 of V-League, coach Troussier still wants his players to practice seriously.
The French coach patiently corrected every small mistake of the U22 Vietnam players, hoping that the players would not repeat these mistakes in official matches.
Previously, coach Philippe Troussier affirmed that U22 Vietnam will win the 32nd SEA Games, even though our opponents in Group B are quite strong, with Thailand being the most formidable opponent.
U22 Vietnam went through the Doha Cup at the end of March without success, but coach Troussier said that the result of that tournament was not important, because through the Doha Cup, the French coach saw the weaknesses of his team, before making appropriate adjustments.
The U22 Vietnam players will train in Ba Ria Vung Tau until April 25. Also on this day, Coach Troussier will reduce the initial list of 31 players to 20. Of these 20 players, there are 2 goalkeepers and 18 players in other positions.
On April 26, U22 Vietnam will go to Phnom Penh (Cambodia), starting the SEA Games 32 campaign.
The priority for the 20-player roster for the 32nd SEA Games is to have as versatile a position as possible. In addition, the U22 Vietnam team has not yet "closed the door" to talent, players in the 22-year-old age group who perform well in the coming days can still be added to the team for the Southeast Asian Games .
