In the period of 2023-2025, the cooperation between Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee and Viettel has brought about many outstanding results, contributing to strongly promoting digital transformation in the province. Regarding digital infrastructure, Viettel has completed 4G coverage to 99.21% of the population, 2G to 99.56% of the population and installed 72 5G stations in central areas; fiber optic infrastructure has covered 100% of communes, ensuring 100% of localities have broadband Internet.
In the field of digital government, many modern solutions have been applied such as paperless meeting room software, electronic information portals, digital signatures and security camera surveillance systems, improving management and operation efficiency.
In the digital society sector, Viettel provides free Internet services to 439 schools, supports electronic primary school transcripts and deploys 100% digital signatures for 6,500 teachers.
In the development of the digital economy , the 4.0 market model has been replicated in 45 central markets; at the same time, the Viettel Money ecosystem has been popularized and more than 38.8 million electronic invoices have been provided to businesses. In addition, Viettel also supports monitoring, ensuring network safety and security, contributing to building a safe and reliable digital environment for Gia Lai.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan affirmed: In recent times, Viettel's cooperation with the province has achieved many results in digital transformation. In the coming time, Gia Lai province hopes that Viettel will support the province to effectively and successfully implement Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo.
Accordingly, Viettel needs to identify the specific conditions of Gia Lai province, which is the second largest province in the country and has a border, so the province wants Viettel to expand the 5G network focusing on developed economic zones and border areas. In addition, Viettel focuses on deploying urgent platforms, first of all healthcare and education, transferring new platforms to communes and wards, noting that these platforms must be compatible with the platforms deployed at the Central level; consider deploying new platforms to support the economy and security - defense.
Regarding the implementation of the agreement, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan requested the two sides to establish a working group and coordinate closely during the implementation process to ensure effectiveness. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also expressed his belief that with its resources and experience, Viettel will support the province to successfully implement digital transformation, contributing to exploiting potentials and strengths to complete socio-economic development goals in the new era.
At the ceremony, leaders of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee and Viettel signed a cooperation agreement on digital transformation for the 2025-2030 period.
According to the signed agreement, the two sides will coordinate comprehensively in the following areas: raising social awareness of science, technology and innovation; investing in and perfecting telecommunications and information technology infrastructure; developing high-quality human resources; building digital government, digital economy and digital society; supporting businesses in applying digital technology; promoting digital culture; ensuring network safety and security; and researching and commercializing new technology products.
