Support production, increase profits
According to the Provincial Cooperative Union, the province currently has more than 1,200 cooperatives with a total of more than 43,000 members. Most cooperatives operate effectively; proactively innovate, apply technology, and digitally transform production and business stages, and consider this an inevitable and important solution for development and acceleration.
Nhu Hoa High-tech Agricultural Cooperative and General Production, Business and Service Cooperative applies high technology to process agricultural products. |
At the Nhu Hoa High-tech Agricultural Cooperative and General Production and Service Trading, Bich Dong Ward (Viet Yen Town), it is known that the cooperative has 5,000 m2 of greenhouses to grow various types of melons and about 3 hectares of associated areas to grow potatoes, sweet potatoes, and vegetables. Each year, the unit produces, purchases, and consumes about 50 tons of agricultural products. In 2023, the Cooperative started processing dried melon products, which were well received by the market. However, all machinery must be rented from another unit outside the province, so it costs a lot.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhu, Director of the Cooperative, shared that the unit determined that it was necessary to be proactive in technology to develop production. Thanks to some supporting capital sources and its own capital, in 2024, the Cooperative invested in purchasing a cold dryer and a heat dryer to produce products such as honey-dried sweet potatoes, dried sweet potatoes, potato chips, and dried melons. The average annual output is about 10 tons and is consumed well.
Recently, the Cooperative completed the construction of a 300 m2 factory that meets ISO 9001:2000 standards for quality management systems; purchased additional slicing, deep-frying, oil-separating, and packaging machines. All machinery and technology are arranged in a production line in the factory. When put into operation, it will save a lot of time, reduce 70% of labor, and improve product quality with the goal of exporting.
Cuong Thi Agricultural Products Processing Cooperative, Dai Hoa Commune (Tan Yen) specializes in producing traditional confectionery (peanut candy, stuffed sausage candy, and green tea). Previously, the Cooperative produced 3-4 tons of candy per year by hand, but since 2017, thanks to investment in machinery, it has increased efficiency to 300-400 tons of candy per year. Products are sold as soon as they are made, bringing in an annual profit of about 700 million VND.
Many other cooperatives have also proactively innovated, applied technology, and digitalized production and business, such as: Yen The Green Agriculture Cooperative has a chicken processing line that ensures food hygiene and safety and applies a cooperative digitalization model to promote consumption; Hien Phuoc Rice Noodle Production, Business and Consumption Cooperative (Chu town) applies a rice noodle production line and heat-drys noodles, so it can produce noodles all year round, even on rainy days; many units are interested in applying automatic drip irrigation technology, monitoring production activities on the phone system, using traceability stamps, etc.
Supporting the collective economic sector
The collective economic sector plays an important role in local socio-economic development. Therefore, guiding and supporting cooperatives to innovate and apply technology to production and business is necessary; helping to improve productivity, quality, and increase profits. At the same time, contributing to the effective implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation. However, the difficulty is that most cooperatives are small-scale; their capacity is uneven; they lack capital and high-quality human resources to access and apply technology.
The collective economic sector plays an important role in local socio-economic development. Guiding and supporting cooperatives to innovate and apply technology in production and business is necessary, contributing to the effective implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation. |
In order to provide timely support, all levels, sectors and mass organizations have had many "support" policies. In recent years, Bac Giang has deployed many solutions to effectively implement Resolution No. 401-NQ/TU dated April 3, 2019 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on the Agricultural Development Strategy of Bac Giang Province to 2030, with a vision to 2035 and Resolution No. 19-NQ/TW dated June 16, 2022 of the Central Party Committee on agriculture, farmers and rural areas to 2030, with a vision to 2045. In particular, the province pays special attention to building a modern agriculture, applying advanced technology and taking cooperatives as the core. As a result, the whole province has more than 1,500 agricultural production models applying high technology with consumption linkages according to the value chain, most of which are managed and implemented by cooperatives; Production value is 2-2.5 times higher than traditional production.
In the period of 2021-2025, the Provincial Cooperative Union will implement the project "Supporting the development of cooperative models applying 4.0 technology in managing and operating production and business activities and high-tech agricultural cooperative startup models in Bac Giang province". As a result, 5 cooperatives have been supported to build models applying 4.0 technology. Specifically, they are supported to digitize the management and operation process of production and business activities; support 9 types of machinery for units with a total amount of more than 2.5 billion VND; support to attract 9 young workers to work; participate in many trade promotion programs, expand the market. At the same time, 4 other cooperatives are supported to build models of high-tech agricultural cooperative startups.
Thanks to policies and promoting internal resources, many cooperatives have made breakthroughs in production and business. One example is Binh Minh Organic Agriculture Cooperative (Hiep Hoa). In 2022, the unit had a pork consumption output of 250 tons/month, revenue of more than 23 billion VND/year, by 2024 it increased to more than 400 tons/month and revenue of nearly 45 billion VND/year, maintaining stable jobs for 25 workers with a salary of about 10 million VND/month; Hong Xuan Agricultural Production and General Service Cooperative (Chu town) had revenue increasing from 27.5 billion VND (in 2022) to nearly 50 billion VND (in 2024)...
Mr. Nguyen Duc Hien, Chairman of the Provincial Cooperative Union, added that supporting cooperatives to access, apply, and master technology in production and business is an important task. In particular, from July 1, 2023, the Law on Cooperatives 2023 will take effect, with the new point in the Law being emphasized as prioritizing digital transformation and technology application in cooperative development. Therefore, in the coming time, the Provincial Cooperative Union will continue to coordinate in implementing policies to support the application of high technology in production; bring young workers to work at cooperatives; support bringing products to domestic and international trading floors; organize trade promotion activities; support new designs or upgrades of packaging, labels, and product traceability stamps.
