Application of digital technology in forest protection

(QNgTV)- Digitalization of forest management and protection is being effectively implemented in Quang Ngai province. The application of digital technology helps to detect early the risk of forest fires, effectively monitor patrolling activities and control forest resources throughout the area.

Quang Ngai has more than 1 million hectares of forest, of which production forest is more than 663,000 hectares, protection forest is more than 308,000 hectares and special-use forest is more than 93,000 hectares.

Thanks to the Smart application, thousands of hectares of forest allocated to the community are strictly protected. The system is not only a recording tool, but also helps control transparency in performing tasks.

In addition to the Smart application, the Quang Ngai forestry sector has tested the installation of 05 heat and smoke sensor cameras at high-risk forest fire locations. Each camera is capable of monitoring hundreds of hectares of forest, allowing for remote detection and early warning of forest fires.

Not only stopping at monitoring and warning about fires, the forestry sector of Quang Ngai province is actively applying specialized software such as Mapinfo, Microstation, QGIS, FRMS and remote sensing technology to build a forest database for the whole province.

Information from satellite images combined with digital geographic data allows for accurate determination of forest status and area changes, supporting more transparent and scientific payment for forest environmental services.
