“We believe that banking is not just a place for transactions, but also a place to create memorable moments for customers. The power of collaboration not only opens up business potential, but also contributes positively to the community, nature and people. Our collaboration this time is a testament to that belief,” said Mr. Paul Kim – Head of Personal Financial Services, UOB Vietnam. “Through our partnership with Oxalis, we are proud to bring customers the opportunity to experience Vietnam’s natural heritage in an in-depth, personalized and unforgettable way.”

Oxalis Adventure - Vietnam's leading adventure travel company - is internationally recognized for its responsible tourism model and world-class cave exploration tours in Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site.

Mr. Nguyen Chau A - General Director of Oxalis Adventure shared: “Together with UOB Vietnam and Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park Management Board, we wish to bring the opportunity to explore the natural beauty of Quang Tri, especially Son Doong, for those who love meaningful, quality experiences and deep connections with nature”.

With only 1,000 visitors allowed each year and tours usually filling up 1 to 1.5 years in advance, the Son Doong journey is one of the world’s rarest and most sought-after adventure experiences. Since its launch in 2013, the tour has welcomed more than 8,500 visitors and contributed positively to local economic development as well as nature conservation work here. This cooperation comes in the context of a strong recovery of adventure tourism in the Asia-Pacific region.

According to the World Adventure Travel Society, visitor numbers are almost back to pre-pandemic levels by 2023, with hiking and trekking among the most popular activities. Southeast Asia, including Vietnam, is now ranked among the world's top destinations for adventure tourism.

In particular, Vietnam has been rated by the prestigious travel magazine Wanderlust (UK) as a paradise for cave lovers, notably Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park with hundreds of majestic caves, a diverse ecosystem with 154 species of mammals and 314 species of birds, especially some new species discovered in 2024, continuing to affirm the special biological value of this place.

Recently, the prestigious international travel magazine Travel and Leisure also honored 6 caves in Quang Tri as destinations not to be missed when exploring Vietnam, including: Son Doong, En Cave, Phong Nha Cave, Thien Duong Cave, Tu Lan Cave system and Va Cave. Each cave possesses unique geological features and offers a fascinating exploration experience.

The signing ceremony of the memorandum of understanding today marks an important milestone in positioning Vietnam as a leading eco-tourism destination in the region.

Mr. Pham Hong Thai, Director of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park shared: “The National Park highly appreciates the tripartite cooperation model between banks, businesses and conservation agencies - helping to attract tourists with environmental awareness and enhance heritage values. Cooperating with UOB - a bank with an extensive international network - is an opportunity to bring Phong Nha - Ke Bang closer to the high-end customer community in the region, contributing to spreading the message of nature conservation”.
