In the 2023 academic year, USTH will enroll master's students in 5 key science and technology training majors selected by the Vietnamese and French governments, including: Biotechnology: Plants - Biomedicine - Pharmacy; Information and Communication Technology; Advanced Materials Science and Nanotechnology; Space: Remote Sensing - Satellite Technology - Astrophysics; and Applied Environmental Science.
Candidates are university graduates with majors relevant to the applied major and are able to use English in their studies.
In addition, USTH applies a policy that allows candidates belonging to one of the following categories to register for the second year program: (1) have completed the first year of a master's program at a domestic or foreign training institution following the Bologna process (have a French Maitrise degree or have completed 240 European credits); (2) have an engineering degree from a school recognized by CTI/PFIEV, an engineer from a state-recognized training institution; (3) have a good or excellent 4-year university degree recognized by France equivalent to the first 60 European credits when having a university degree. Thus, the time to complete the master's program for these categories will be shortened to only 1 year.
In 2023, USTH will enroll students through application review and interview with 2 application rounds. Specifically as follows:
STT | Application deadline | Admission interview |
1 | March 15, 2023 – June 16, 2023 | June 7, 2023 |

5 USTH master's programs are jointly awarded French-Vietnamese degrees by nearly 20 prestigious French universities and research institutes, including many long-standing and prestigious training and research institutions in the field of science and technology such as: University of Paris, National Polytechnic Institute of Toulouse (Toulouse INP), University of Lyon 1, University of Montpellier, University of La Rochelle, University of Limoges, etc. In particular, some training majors have more than 5 partners participating in co-awarding degrees such as Applied Environmental Sciences, Information and Communication Technology, Advanced Materials Science and Nanotechnology.
According to statistics, 100% of master's graduates have jobs or are awarded doctoral scholarships abroad, including prestigious scholarships such as the Excellence Scholarship of the French Embassy, Erasmus Mundus Scholarship, and full scholarships granted by universities in France, Japan, Korea, and the US.
In 2023, USTH will have a diverse scholarship policy to encourage, motivate and facilitate successful candidates to study USTH's master's programs. The highest scholarship level is expected to be up to 100% of the full course tuition fee. Scholarships include learning encouragement scholarships; continuing scholarships for USTH graduates; capacity building scholarships for staff from research institutes and centers of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology; connection scholarships for students from units that have signed agreements with the University; scholarships for students in difficult circumstances./.
